Great location! Beautiful hillside view of ocean and only about 200 paces from the nice beach, most of it being steps. Only a short drive to Margate and Ramsgate so a number of restaurant options and walking and beach options. Nice reading room with windows on three sides. WONDERFUL breakfasts with croissants, muffins and juice; then coffee or tea to start and then your choice of health, English, traditional, or continental. English was our choice and yummy with eggs to order, bacon, sausage, tomato and toast. Nice place settings and ambiance as well. We had Room 4 – nice LARGE and pretty tub (handheld shower). Beds comfy with percale sheets. Daily room service. They had three dogs (we don’t care for them). Pool is only in the sun during the morning and wasn’t heated. Only interacted with Trevor, not Sharon – he was a bit gruff, but helpful in giving restaurant advice. Two things we would have liked to know beforehand – they advertized a jacuzzi and sauna as if it was free (this is one of the reasons we chose the place), but only upon arrival did we find out they charge per half hour and we hadn’t planned that in our budget. Also, to save money the geysers are only on at set times and it’s a bit of a pain to ask for them to turn them on manually at other times and then wait a half hour for them to heat up. Personally, we thought they were being “cheap” when we hadn’t paid a cheap price.

Well worth the money spent, lovely setting with beautiful sea view. Room was well equipped and pleasant to stay in. Great hosts. The breakfasts were great and pleasantly presented. Would highly recommend.

This place had the most palatial of the rooms/suites we experienced. Really splendid, large and very comfortable accommodation, within a lovely house in a beautiful ocean side setting. The owners and their staff were attentive and most hospitable, their dogs friendly(!), the dining area is lovely and the breakfast excellent. T'was a shame we were just passing through - a few days here would be wonderful! The Italian restaurant which Sharon recommended, just down the hill from "Beachcomber Bay", was an ideal spot for our evening meal: atmospheric with good food at reasonable prices.

Dit was baie lekker om elke oggend bedien te word soos 'n VIP en dan word 'n mens se kamer ook nog skoon gemaak. Ek sal jul plekkie vir mense aanbeveel. Dankie vir alles. It was so nice being treated like a VIP every morning and then your room gets cleaned for you as well. I will recommend your place to people. Thank you for everything.
