At Bayview Lodge and Estate, we aim to spoil our guests with relaxation in all aspects. We do not have crowds, we do not have noise, but we do have space, long sandy beaches, wonderful underwater scenery a few metres from your doorstep, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and above all, we have time.
The lodge and estate is situated on the northern part of the Inhambane peninsula in Mozambique, at Praia da Barra, with a long sandy beach in front and an estuary behind the lodge. We are approximately 25 km from Inhambane town, 20 km from the Inhambane International Airport, and all roads leading to Bayview Lodge and Estate are easily accessible with a normal car - no 4x4 vehicle needed.
Although we do not offer scuba diving - our dive centre, restaurant and conference centre are yet to be built - diving and fishing excursions can be arranged. There are also several restaurants in the area if the idea of cooking is just too much. Our one-bedroom units are ideal for honeymoon couples, and a group of friends can share several units, enabling everybody to retreat to the peace and quiet.
Bayview Lodge offers superior self-catering accommodation, ranging from one-bedroom to four-bedroom units, each fully equipped, air-conditioned and serviced for guests' convenience. Linen is supplied and all beds have mosquito nets; guests only need to bring their own beach towels. The units are face-brick buildings with thatch roofs and all floors are tiled. All the doors, window frames and cupboards are manufactured on site from local hardwood. Seven units are completed, with a further 12 to be built in the near future.

Character: The lodge and estate are specifically designed to give everybody the feeling of space and closeness to the beach.
Location: We have one of the best settings on a peninsula with warm tropical weather, no crowds and no traffic.
Beach: All units are within 100 m from the flat, sandy beach that beckons you to pitch a beach umbrella, go for a swim in the balmy water, or take a snorkel and fins and explore the wonderful underwater world. Best of all - no crowds.
Great Outdoors: Fishing and snorkelling are very popular pastimes and at Tofo in particular, the highest concentration of whale sharks in Southern Africa occurs. Scuba diving is very good with a number of reefs in the area.
Honeymoon Romance: Our One-bedroom Units were specifically built for romantics at heart, whether it's your honeymoon, an anniversary or just loving being together. The sun, beach, sunsets and sunrises make it unforgettable.
Relaxation: We offer open spaces and a wide and uncrowded beach, even at the busiest holiday times. Nothing spoils your view of the sunrises and sunsets, and best of all, the only noise you'll hear are the waves breaking.

Our group house is ideal for a group of family or friends, dive groups or overlanders - where a group of people would like to stay together under one roof. The double-storey thatched roof house features a large patio and upstairs balcony looking out onto the beach. The house comprises eight air-conditioned bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with proper pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. All linen and bathroom towels are provided, but guests must please bring their own beach towels.
