Basil Place Cottage is a charming old cottage that dates back to the beginnings of the famous black/white houses of St Francis Bay in the 1950's. Small and cozy, the family-styled cottage has most of the facilities one needs for good, self-catering holiday living and is located just 3 minutes walking distance from both the beach, the main shopping square and the local golf course. The cottage is nicely elevated, giving a partial but good view of the sea to the seashore. The garden is largely left in the natural coastal vegetation to encourage visits from the local wildlife and birds.

The cottage has two bedrooms with double beds, one single room with twin while the small bathroom has a shower and toilet. The decor is comfortable rustic, which makes it an ideal family get-away spot. There is a DStv decoder and small but new CRT TV, bring your own card and it is possible to connect your own PVR to the dual aerial cable, a Weber braai, at a separate cost. The area is best known for its wonderful surfing and swimming conditions and there are many great hikes/walks to be enjoyed. Other opportunities are great bird watching, kite-surfing, kayaking, fishing, cycling, kite-flying, deep-sea safaris. For those seeking a good time, there is a great selection of restaurants and pubs, designer clothing, decor shops and wellness spa. The choice is in the hands of the holidaymaker.
