Description

The Berghuisie is an exclusive, fully contained self-catering cottage and can accommodate a maximum of four people. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom has a double bed and the twin room has two single beds. The unit is book as a whole. So there is private and exclusive use of the whole unit for the guests.

A gravel mountain pass road winds its way up the Makhonjwa Mountains, surrounded by ancient rocks which tell an epic story of the Barberton rocks, where life began. This is the cradle of life as we know it.

Berghuisie is a fairytale-like mountain cottage; home of legends, adventurers, businessmen, travellers, celebrities, geologists, scientists, researchers, nature lovers, honeymoon couples, gypsies and artists. The cottage is exclusive and private in a safe, tranquil environment. It is surrounded by an abundance of nature and natural beauty, bird life and spectacular views over the Barberton Valley.

Berghuisie is 7 km from Barberton, 70 km from the Kruger national Park and 50 km from Swaziland. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, 4x4-ing, birdwatching, swimming, reading and relaxing.

Very friendly and hospitable hosts! Skattie, Karen and Sundra, thank you for being there in a time of need! Will forever remember you guys, hope to see you soon, will make new memories!

06 June 2013

Super houses in lovely location on hill above (not very exciting) Barberton. Don't forget all you need for your stay as the drive up the track takes 25 minutes in an ordinary car, and takes care. Great place to do nothing.

29 March 2013

We loved Barberton Mountain Lodge. The rolling mist and constant rain made it the perfect relaxing getaway. This spot is perfect - we will definitely be back again. There are so many places to visit with each other: in front of the fire, on tha deck, by the boma. You definitely need a 4x4 for the dirt road up the mountain. Maybe a shower in the indoor bathroom would be an advantage, but apart from that eevrything was perfect. Adri was a wonderful host - she even left us flowers in the bedroom and chocotales on the bed. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
