Banoka Bush Camp

Banoka Bush Camp is named in honour of the River San or Banoka, ancestors of the Khoi who settled in the Khwai area and were amongst the earliest settlers of the Okavango Delta. Their descendants still live in the area, and the camp staff offer an insight in to a way of life which existed in harmony with the environment.

The camp is strategically positioned, raised off the ground, enabling guests to enjoy the view over the hippo pools and floodplains of the Khwai River. The main area lies under a canvas canopy and includes a comfortable lounge, dining area and bar, with an open campfire area where guests can relax after dinner.

Banoka Bush Camp offers a combined Okavango Delta experience including water-based delta boating and mokoro, flood water levels dependent, activities and land-based 4x4 game drive activities. Nature walks on the private concession offer the opportunity to get closer to and learn about the environment, its vegetation and the life cycle dependency of the creatures which live and pass through the area in tune with the flood waters of the Okavango Delta.
