Spend your days walking through some of the Eastern Cape's most beautiful indigenous forests and spend your nights beside a crackling fire after a delectable meal in our cosy restaurant. The Arminel Hotel is an idyllic natural setting nestled in the famous Hogsback Mountains.

Completely renovated to recapture its original charm, the hotel now boasts larger public areas and can cater for up to 80 conference delegates or 150 banqueting guests. All of the bedrooms are set away from the hotel's public areas and lead directly onto the beautiful gardens. Some rooms boast generous wooden decks. Our establishment is ideal for a relaxing family holiday.

A hotel with all the amenities that one has to offer and the best people to go with it. The food is certainly one of the best meals that we have had. A real heads up for the kitchen staff. Comfortable overnight stay.

Part of our group stayed in a self-catering cottage and the rest stayed in a hotel room. Best parts of the stay: staff (very friendly and warm) New Year's Eve dinner dance (fabulous) free tea, coffee and hot chocolate roaring fire in lounge as was very cold and wet even though it was mid summer Worst parts of the stay: thatch really smelled, apparently it smells when it stays wet for a long time and it had been raining a huge amount. I know this is not their fault but it really really reeks! bill was incorrect, they overcharged us for the room and did not capture full deposit from SafariNow.com. I had to pay anyway as they could not sort it out and now must waste my time trying to resolve it and get money back (R1500!)

Excellent service from staff and management, rooms neat, gardens well cared for, food good. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the comfort of the lounge as there was a conference held and as we had rainy days we were confined to our rooms, our suggestion would be that they could consider building a conference room. No intercom system to reception in case of an emergency. Staff should have name tags.

Wedding Venues: Hogsback is home to one of the most famous small chapels in the country - St Patricks on the Hill which is located 1 km from the hotel. The hotel itself provides an intimate and relaxed venue for your weddings in a spectacular forest setting.
