Apoka Safari Lodge

Apoka Safari Lodge is situated in the Kidepo Valley National Park. It is the only lodge in the park and sits in the middle of the park. Strategically placed near the river, the lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the park and view the outstanding inhabitants.

Apoka offers 10 rooms, built of wood, thatch and canvas that spring from a large rocky hill. The décor takes its cue from rock, savannah and the natural landscape. Here you can sit in your outdoor bathtub under the stars, or lie on your private veranda soaking up the view dotted with giraffe, elephant, buffalo, and zebra. The main lodge has a comfortable sitting room and a bar and dining area. The shelterd viewing tower offers 360-degree views and is also called the Meditation Tower for the quiet atmosphere it offers.

Walk with trained guides or track game along a sandy dry riverbed. Apolka is where the sun rises from the crest between two hills, and sets behind a dramatic range of craggy mountains, bathing the entire valley in a golden light. Sleep in your spacious bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, listening to lions roar and know that you are as far away from city life as you are ever going to get.
