Description

Anchor's Rest is situated in the quaint seaside village of Hermanus, 120 km from Cape Town. We are 150 m from the famous cliff paths boasting the best land-based whale watching in the world, and a 1.5 km stroll to the village centre. It lies between the historic Old Harbour and the New Harbour with its restaurants within walking distance.

The champagne air, Blue Flag beaches, spectacular mountain nature reserve, beautiful golf course and other outdoor activities make Hermanus a popular holiday destination. Accommodation is offered in four separate suites each with their own private entrance and patio/garden areas and barbecue.

A Health Breakfast, which is optional, is served on the private patio or in your suite. A bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, overhead fans, microwave, and TV with M-Net are provided in each unit. Other facilities include a salt water swimming pool and shady garden area, as well as secure off-street parking.

Rates are for two persons, but a sleeper couch in the living room can accommodate two persons at an additional R90.00 per person.

We stayed at Anchors Rest for 3 nights. The accommodation was pleasant and the owner, Guy ,very informative about the area. After a long hot day playing golf in Hermanus is was wonderful to go back to the tranquillity of Anchors Rest and have a swim in the pool. We had everything in our apartment that we needed and we enjoyed Hermanus greatly - we shall go back I hope.

Guy went out of his way to assist us with making other arrangements during our stay! The continental breakfast brought to your room in the morning is very good and worth the extra few Rand! Will stay there next time we are in Hermanus!!!

A good choice if you don't want to be in the town itself (its 2km from the centre) since its very quiet and easy to find. We arrived quite late (9pm) but fortunately called the owner and he left us the keys to collect on arrival. The room (Pebbles) is purpose built as a s/c unit so works really well, having a mini kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster and plates etc (no actual cooker). The bed was excellent quality and room spacious and light. Recommend it for a short stay
