Fantastic place

For the price this was a fantastic place to stay. Game drive into Thornybush was much better than in Kruger. Hosts were overly hospitable and tried to help as much as poss. Chubby(the dog!) was ace!!

One of the highlights from our south-africa-trip

Our stay at Amanzimlotzi Riverside Bush Camp was one of the nicest stays in our 3weeks traveling in south africa. We enjoyed very much our lovely rondavel hut. Andre and his wife are very friendly, open hearted people who were very endeavours to make our stay unforgetable. Andre really cares about his guests and makes much efforts to make you feel very comfortable. Andre booked us a game drive in the Timbavati Game Reserve. He organized a good price for us. The "safari" was gorgeous. ... more

Description

Between the millionaire's private ranches where the rich & famous stay, lies our little piece of heaven.

All we offer is a very quiet tent or comfortable hut in the bush, where you can relax & de-stress.

You get to use all the facilities, but at affordable prices.

We have furnished tents, self catering e/s rondavels or camping. Instead of watching TV at night, sit watching the sunsets with the incredible sounds of the bush. The monkeys & baboons going to bed & fighting for the best branches. The Pheasants scurrying through our camp & picking up crumbs we put out. The lions roaring, the jackal laughing at some obscure joke, and the always present hyenas with their scary cries, just outside the camp. At first my wife was scared & carried the shotgun when I was out, but now she walks down to the river where leopard leave their footprints.

All you hear are the birds around you and at night the sounds of the bush, with the occasional distant lion roars & the call of hyenas that walk around the camp quite often,  some jackal, hippo and even the occasional elephant. We offer no luxuries, but unlike most bush camps, we have a pool, running water in all the units, hot water in the showers, and even flush toilets. The huts have small stoves in, so you do not have to make a fire for every meal.

All the photos of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, birds, insects etc, on my website were taken by me, unless stated otherwise & they were all taken on my tours, on my game walks, or game-drives, either in the Kruger, the Topranch in SA where I do my big 5 drives, our ranch or where I do the game-walks.

I do not have elephants or lions in my garden.

Activities:-

Walking on our farm,

Walking along the river,

Walking in the virgin bush, look into big 4 ranch.

We have seen the following visitors, some very regularly.
