Absolutely perfect
Phil / Sue and the team are very accommodating and the food is absolutely 1st Class. The location is stunning and our room was wonderful with marvellous views. We enjoyed our stay and would most certainly recommend both visiting Cape Agulhas and staying at Cape Agulhas Lodge

Absolutely fantastic
Our honeymoon at Agulhas Country Lodge was absolutely fantastic. The service was great and our private and comfortable room (no.8) was incredible.

Description
AGULHAS COUNTRY LODGE The southern most tip of the mighty African continent is only two hours drive from Cape Town and is the place where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. The ruggedness of the area is mirrored in the name “Agulhas”, meaning “place of needles”. In keeping with this, the Agulhas Country Lodge is built from local limestone and blends beautifully into a hill overlooking the spectacular oceans. The lodge has several relaxation areas – a cigar lounge, quaint pub with an air force/maritime theme, a TV room with paintings of shipwrecks, a lounge area and glass clad balcony with spectacular sea views for whale watching. The friendly staff who are very service orientated, take great pride in preparing gourmet country style dinners which are served in the romantic candlelit restaurant. The menu which varies daily and is complimented with a selection of South African wines. The wine list features the southernmost and newest wine region in the country, right on our doorstep – in the Elim, Bredasdorp, Napier region of the Overberg. Fresh fish and seafood bought daily at the nearby harbour in Struisbaai are a specialty and the emphasis of the food is to serve delicious, honest and local fair, prepared with the freshest ingredients. The restaurant also serves traditional South African cuisine with a modern twist and local organic venison and pork feature regularly. Tables are elegant, decked out in white linen, Carol Boyes cutlery and cut glass crystal but the atmosphere is relaxed, with fires blazing in winter to add to the romantic atmosphere. All eight rooms have seaviews from the balcony, two have direct seaviews and the honeymoon rooms with their jacuzzi baths and double open showers are very popular. These also offer views of the varied fynbos and excellent bird life on the property. Beautiful embroidered percale linen, original art and antique Cape cottage furniture enhance the homely atmosphere. Four rooms have ¾ twin beds (two of these are family rooms with 3 beds each) and the other four have queen size double beds. The honeymoon rooms have an entertainment centre and mini bar. All the upstairs rooms have air conditioners and all rooms have panel heaters. There is a new beauty salon with a resident qualified beautician to offer massages, manicure- and pedicures, waxing and all the normal therapeutic treatments. Swimming at the longest uninterrupted white beach in southern Africa at nearby Struisbaai is a popular activity in summer and is safe. Agulhas offers two tidal pools within walking distance and the second oldest light house is a brisk walk away. Also don’t miss the eco coastal safari through the Agulhas National Park or a sea excursion for deep sea fishing or simply for pleasure.
