Description
Acra Retreat - Mountain View Lodge is situated on the edge of a cliff. The eleven-hectare property is on the border of the Elands Krans Nature Reserve. The views are absolutely stunning.
There is an abundance of bird life, including owls, swallows, Loeries, guinea fowl just to name a few. One can watch the monkeys on the adjacent cliffs, sunning themselves or playing on the rocks. Steam train rides, trout fishing, mountain biking, stone circle viewing, abseiling, mountain climbing, paragliding and horse riding can be arranged.
The rooms are luxurious and welcoming. Each room has a view and own door on to the outside deck. Safe parking is guaranteed. Acra Retreat has its own fully licensed pub. Sundowners can also be enjoyed on the deck whilst watching the magnificent display of colours on the mountains as the sun slowly sets.There is a gym, trampoline and a swimming pool. Dinners are served on request. Acra Retreat specialise in home-cooking and are famous for their delicious fillet steaks, home made bread and Sunday roasts.
The hosts speak German, Dutch, English and Afrikaans.Emphasis is laid upon peace and tranquility.bBBQ (Braai) facilities are available.
Acra Retreat also arranges trips to the Kruger Park, the stone circles, and The Panorama Route (Blyde River Canyon, Roukes Potholes etc.). It is also a perfect stop-over for International tourists, being only 2 hours drive away from Johannesburg, and half-way to the Kruger Park.
