Description

A Fisherman's Prayer is a stunning self-catering getaway near Dullstroom on the Kloppenheim Country Estate. It is a family home ideal for weekend breaks from the city or longer stays with the whole family or good friends. Enjoy a sundowner on the lovely patio, watch the red hartebeest stroll by and keep your eyes open for the elephant shrew.

The accommodation comprises an open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge with a double-sided wood burner and underfloor heating. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen and all utensils, crockery, cutlery and cookware are provided. There is a kettle braai for outdoor cooking. The house enjoys solar heating to the water mains with electrical back-up to ensure an even temperature to the water. There is a double garage which provides plenty of storage space for all of the outdoor kit if you are staying for an extended period.

With its temperate climate, the eastern highlands provides prime fly fishing to the enthusiast. There are six beautiful dams situated on the Kloppenheim Estate, all well established and well stocked. If you don’t have your own tackle, the hotel would be willing to rent this to you. They also provide a cleaning and storage facility if you want to keep your catch.

The terrain is also well suited to mountain biking with some excellent single track and complete off-road riding, although we would ask that you remember to take care of the environment when riding through the veld. Kloppenheim is home to 152 different species of wetland plants with eight of these being red data wetland associated plants. The bird life is abundant and varied.

The Kloppenheim Hotel provides archery, bowls, a putting green, tennis and horse riding. There is a peaceful wellness centre at the hotel to provide tranquility and calm during your stay.

Great Outdoors: At almost 2,000m altitude the house has spectacular views over the eastern escarpment. Six beautiful dams with trout fishing. Excellent bird watching, small game viewing and nature walks. Terrain is well suited to mountain biking and hiking.

The three bedrooms all have access to the outdoor patios with spectacular views of the eastern escarpment. Two of the bedrooms have queen-size beds and one has a king-size bed. All bedrooms have underfloor heating and offer full en-suite bathrooms. All linen and towels are provided and each bedroom has built-in cupboards. There is a well equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge and outdoor patios.
