the first time I came here, there was almost noting, except small kibanda along the main road selling curious for the few turist or better to say travelleres that were landing in Diani after safari in the park.
Now it grow up to glamour ! an amazing village in the
Swaili coast, with its beautiful withe sand beach, restaurants, shopping areas, golf, tennis, kite, and all the amusement findable in each famous site, but yet
Diani has mantained its privacy ,
Spending vacation in Diani can bring you from disco nights to very relaxed and private life " out from it all ".

Located 45 minutes south of the island city of Mombasa, Diani Beach offers 15kms of stunning sandy beaches, plenty of water sports (Diving, Windsurfing, Kite Surfing, Snorkelling, Jet Skis, Deep Sea Fishing, Glass Bottom boats, kayaking, Beach Boarding...) in a safe lagoon protected from the Indian Ocean by a fringing reef.
The beaches are long, flat and very white, perfect for building sandcastles and long walks. At low tide the water in the lagoon disappears almost completely allowing families a great opportunity to explore the reef and rock pools.
Swimming is safe but be aware of rip currents at the Kongo Mosque at the northern tip of the beach. There is no life guard service. In front of the large hotels Beach Boys can be a pain but if you don’t enter into conversation with them they will soon leave you alone. All the hotels have security that patrol the beaches.
There are lots of bars and restaurants along the beach ranging in cuisine from around the world and suitable for all budgets.
Lots of great day excursions are available including day trips to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine park (highly recommended), Historical Mombasa, Swahili Culture, microlight flights. Overnight and extended safaris to the game parks are easily arranged locally but be aware of booking with local beach boys. The prices may be very good often they are not insured.
There is plenty of choice when it comes to accommodation from the Diani Beach Campsite to private villas that have played host to numerous film stars.
There are two private hospitals in Diani, numerous supermarkets, banks and ATMs (MasterCard and travellers cheques are not accepted by most banks and ATMs).
