Constantia Nek Restaurant is well-known by locals as the oldest restaurant in Cape Town. It is located on the Constantia Nek pass and is the perfect half-way stop between Hout Bay and the Southern Suburbs. An Old World Feel in a stone building with thatch roof, great service, a cosy bar area, a giant dance floor and eating hall and good hearty food is what has kept the current owners going for more than 20 years. The restaurant offers breathtaking views over False Bay and the Constantia Valley and you are literally surrounded by forest, envoking a magical feel and ambience. Breakfast serves up simple favourites like omelettes with a variety of fillings, eggs to order, croissants, muffins and, of course, the traditional English. The lunch menu offers light meals like bangers and mash, the soup of the day, freshly made calamari and chips and the delightful old favourite fish and chips, fillets of fish in an ale batter, deep-fried to perfection. The a la carte menu is the pride and joy of this spot with a wide variety of dishes that are as varied as diners' palates. Try the Tempura Prawns, served with avo, sweet chilli jam and basil pesto mayonnaise, or the Mussel Chowder, perfectly cooked mussels in a creamy white wine and garlic sauce. A variety of salads are also available. A signature dish here is the Roast Leg of Karoo Lamb, cooked as it should be and served with roast potatoes and veggies. Another popular one is the deliciously rich oxtail stew - oxtail braised in red wine and stock with onions and carrots. Other meals include the Madagascar steak, the Sesame Seed Crusted Kingklip, Grilled Tiger Prawns, and the Panzerotti Cremolatti, pasta parcels filled with butternut in a tomato and cream sauce. The restaurant serves as a conference venue and is a great spot for banquet dinners, office parties, product launches and cocktail functions. On occasion they also have live music for an awesome dinner-dance experience. The setting, the hospitality, the food and the ambience - all highly recommended.

The Sugarhut Club offers a selection of entertainment options making it the ideal venue for celebrations, special occasions, romance, after-work drinks and corporate functions. The beat is as diverse as the décor, with music ranging from Shanghai Jazz to Brazilian Bosanova. Bliss out in the Saffron Lounge, sip cocktails and snack on canapés at the extravagant Gold Bar, or belly dance the night away on the Monsoon Dance floor. For a breath of fresh air, there’s an all-weather outdoor deck area complete with stunning mountain views. The Sugarhut Club affords diners with an authentic Asian-style dining experience, using only the freshest local ingredients and serving plates of genuine and satisfying fusion food.
