The chef has crafted a menu to showcase the very best of West Coast cuisine and fresh local foods. He describes cuisine as “Exquisite world cuisine, with an African twist.” Locally sourced seafood features prominently, alongside traditional South Africa cuisine – but there are meat and chicken dishes too. A special Chef’s Table also sits comfortably in the kitchen, where up to 10 guests can enjoy dining in situ as the chef creates tantalizing dishes. Main meals, accompanied by select local wines, are served in the exotically appointed Saffron Restaurant – under crystal chandeliers and surrounded by candlelight and evocative artwork. The Bungalow in Clifton

The Bungalow

Clifton Contemporary restaurant in Clifton
This laid-back, yet sophisticated restaurant is situated on the popular Clifton shore and provides unique experience when it comes to food, ambience and location. A world-class setting, rivalled by very few, will transport you to the distant echoes of your dream life. The deck allows you breathtaking views of the 12 Apostles, Lion's Head and the Clifton beachfront. The interior is an eclectic, perfect mix of clean, light breezy colours and opulent baroque-style fittings complete with ornate chandeliers. Outside the 'beach bungalow' feel will envoke the spirit of the ocean and a cool splash pool reminds you that no expense was spared creating this not-so-humble abode. The menu offers everything from a light lunch to sushi to gorgeous dinners. The cuisine is modern and imaginative and the food looks too good to eat at times. Try the Namibian Crab Claw Tempura, crispy tempura batter with a chilli and lemon sauce, or the Line Fish Carpaccio comprising just that with lemon zest and Italian parsley gremolata. The zucchini and tomato fritters are also must-tries. Succulent lamb cutlets perfectly grilled with thyme and rosemary lemon salt and the Venison of the day in their secret basting sauce will not disappoint. End your 'experience' (cause that's what it is) with a decadent chocolate ganache torte with mixed berry ice cream or the luscious and fresh vanilla yogurt panacotta. More we cannot say. You are sure to enjoy this one.
