Ashley's is a unique owner-run restaurant that specializes in optimizing and perfecting the family dining experience. The first thing you see when you walk in is a big smile from either the owner or one of the staff members. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and, as the name suggests, you immediately feel like you're with family. Ashley's offers a wide variety of dishes including delicious seafood, steaks, burgers, pasta, pizzas, ribs and chicken. A special carvery is served on Wednesdays from 6 pm to and on Sundays from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm. Ashley calls this "mamma se kos", translated "mom's food". Look out for daily specials and excellent deals. The restaurant is child friendly with its own kiddies birthday club and a kiddies menu which is also available for the not-so-hungry adults. There is a children's play area, a baby changing station and high chairs for toddlers. The restaurant also caters for functions with a range of menus to choose from. Wonderful options are available and include the Asian Trio which comprises crispy pork belly in a pineapple chilli sauce, vegetable spring rolls and a tempura prawn. Beef carpaccio, chicken livers, an avocado salad and even risotto are just some of the other choices. For a main, try the fall-off-the-bone lamb shank, the sticky ginger chicken breast or the simple, yet tasty, linefish. There are some interesting variations on traditional dishes, such as the springbok shank and the chinese braised oxtail. A great dessert menu tops off this great experience. And, please, don't forget the steaks.
