Eight and a half on Canal in Century City

Eight and a half on Canal

Century City Italian restaurant in Century City
This Italian restaurant is set in arguably one of the most beautiful settings in Century City. Diners can sit in what feels like a real Italian piazza overlooking the tranquil waters of the canal surrounded by plants, trees and peace. The delightfully simple and rustic menu contains all the old favourites - with a modern twist. Diners are spoilt for choice and starters range from straight forward focaccia or calamari to more complex dishes such as the Carpaccio - pepper-crusted beef fillet topped with mushrooms, parmesan shavings and rocket. A variety of truly Italian pizzas and pastas are available and a combination to try is the 'trenette' pasta with calamari, mussels, porcini mushrooms, black olives and cherry tomatoes in a chilli, garlic, white wine and olive oil sauce. House speciality seems to be the fillet served with a reduced balsamic vinaigrette topped with rocket and parmesan shavings, the prawns prepared in a secret special Pernot sauce and the 'eight and a half pasta' with Italian sausage in a tomato sauce. This restaurant is open seven days a week from 10.30 am until 10 pm. Booking is advised.
