De Seemans Taphuis is perched on a cliff overlooking the Gansbaai harbour. The views from the balcony are, to say the least, fantastic! Many a great sunset has been seen from here with the harbour and boat lights slowly flickering on. This is a laidback restaurant and bar and beach wear is almost mandatory in summer. Winter has everyone huddling inside in the warm atmosphere. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and service cannot be faulted. De Seemans Taphuis is family friendly and there is a lawn in front of the deck and a trampoline for the kids. The meals are typical bistro-pub cuisine with some outrageous, or interesting, additions being added on a regular basis.
