Captain's Table in Simons Town

Captain's Table

Simons Town International restaurant in Simons Town
The de Beers cold Storage building was designed in 1901 by Francis Edward Massey and build for Cecil John Rhodes in 1902. With its sandstone facade bay windows and rustic looks, the building lends itself to the setting for a romantic upstairs restaurant with views over the yacht harbour and naval dockyard. One of our customers called Captain’s Table the best kept secret in Simon's Town. Well it may have been but it is no longer a secret. Yes we have finally opened Captain's Table upstairs above the Two and Sixpence Tavern. The experience was described as follows: "Enter the pub and ask the bar person to direct you to the Restaurant. Through the swing doors, up the stairs and then enter a completely different world" Captain’s Table is old world in style, where everything was designed to enhance your experience as our guests. The atmosphere upstairs is relaxed with dimmed lighting, candles on the tables and soothing background music. The venue is ideally suited for smaller functions and parties. The restaurant can be divided to allow privacy for smaller groups and can accommodate up to 48 people. The restaurant is open for lunch 12h30 - 14h30 on Fridays to Sundays and for dinner 18h30 – 21h30 Fridays to Wednesdays. The restaurant will be closed on Thursdays except for functions.

KFC in Century City

KFC

Century City International restaurant in Century City
Original recipe chicken made according to the Colonel's recipe. What would a restaurant guide be without KFC. No matter who you are, you will enjoy the fast, convenient and finger-licking food coming out of this take away outlet. Whether it is the original recipe chicken pieces covered in a batter that nobody we know of has been able to copy, or the tender fillet burgers with or without a kicking spiciness, it is hard to be disappointed with a meal. For a slightly healthier option, try the grilled chicken twister - a wrap filled with chicken strips, lettuce, tomatoes and a choice of mayo or a sweet chilli sauce. Add a side of chips, hearty mash and gravy, coleslaw or a fresh, soft mini loaf and you've got a meal fit for a king. Choose to sit down and eat here, or take your food home for a family dinner of wicked indulgence.

In its name, Overture Restaurant alludes to “An introduction to great things”. This exquisite eating establishment is set on the equally breathtaking wine farm, Hidden Valley, in the quaint Stellenbosch countryside. The menu is small and select, if not subject to change daily, to make the most of local seasonal produce. With award winning chef Bertus Basson running the show, patrons will certainly feel indulged in the culinary experience the restaurant offers. The menu caters for the sophisticated palate with dishes to the likes of Duck Liver Parfait (to start), Confit Lamb Shoulder or Silverfish (for mains) and Date and Rum Souffle for dessert. All menu items are paired and complimented with wines selected from the farm. For the foodies who eat to be swept away by the flow of flavours (not mention the eating with the eyes), Overture offers 3, 4 and 5 course menus (with or without wine). Feel free to take the advice of the in house sommelier, should one be undecided about wine choices. Overture has been listed as one of Eat Out Magazine’s Top Ten Restaurants for the past two years.
