Grab your loved ones and spend a breezy summer afternoon grooving to the tunes of Hot Water at the Old Biscuit Mill Sunday Fair. The Hot Water sound ranges from upbeat South African beats (ala Graceland), Hopping Blues, Modern Folk ballads (ala Jack Johnson) and thought-provoking, inspiring cross-cultural gems (World-Roots music).
Hot water represents the great diversity that embodies the South African
nation. By bringing together five musicians from very different
backgrounds, their creative music appeals and inspires people of all ages, races and
cultures.
Donovan Copley – Spearhead of the band on acoustic guitar, lead vocals, Afri-Can guitar, banjo, harp, hang and harmonica.
Soubry Makapula – Xhosa member of the group brings his deep African
spirit with vocals, percussion and dynamic dance.
Leon Visser – Afrikaans mother tongue brings his unmistakably warm vocals and gifted song writing skills to the group and adds percussion, guitar, hang and djembe to the mix.
Chris Bakalamba Amba – originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chris is now living in South Africa, plays bass guitar and assists with backing vocals.
Devin Jones – on Drum Kit; holds a degree in Jazz from the University
of Cape Town and is endorsed by Spaun Drums, California.
