Edgemead Steakhouse restaurant
Ashley's is a unique owner-run restaurant that specializes in optimizing and perfecting the family dining experience. The first thing you see when you walk in is a big smile from either the owner or one of the staff members. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and, as the name suggests, you immediately feel like you're with family.
Ashley's offers a wide variety of dishes including delicious seafood, steaks, burgers, pasta, pizzas, ribs and chicken. A special carvery is served on Wednesdays from 6 pm to and on Sundays from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm. Ashley calls this "mamma se kos", translated "mom's food". Look out for daily specials and excellent deals.
The restaurant is child friendly with its own kiddies birthday club and a kiddies menu which is also available for the not-so-hungry adults. There is a children's play area, a baby changing station and high chairs for toddlers.
The restaurant also caters for functions with a range of menus to choose from. Unpretentious, warm and back to your roots is what you'll experience at Ashley's.
Hermanus Steakhouse restaurant
With a motto like “Life’s too short for bad food.” B’s Steak House in the seaside town of Hermanus certainly lives up to its claim. B’s has won and been runners up for the Steak House of the Year Award (1999, 2000 and 2001). So, what to expect? Steak prepared to perfection.
The relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant has a ‘Sante Fe’ feel with its orange and blue colour scheme which is enhanced by the solid wooden furnishings and airy double volume ceiling. The loft area creates a relaxed post pudding space for guests to linger a little longer and indulge in a good brandy and a Cuban cigar.
And then there’s the steak. With a descriptive chart to guide on preference of preparation, one can be guaranteed that B’s will go to great lengths provide its patrons with steak as they like it. Firm menu favourites include the Chateaubriand and Carpetbagger.
Not only does B’s offer the very best steaks, but as an essential compliment to any steak meal, its wine list is also award winning (Diners Club award).
Visitors also do not have to go home empty handed. Meat products such as steak, wors and biltong as well as a range of sauces can now be purchased from the restaurant’s new butchery counter.
Century City Steakhouse restaurant
Cattle Baron is a true South African institution and does not fail to deliver on quality, quantity and affordability.
This steak ranch serves up traditional favourites with the emphasis on steak, steak and steak. The menu offers a wide variety of meats, served with rice, baked potato or chips and the famous complimentary creamed spinach and sweet butternut. A must-try is the melt-in-your-mouth Chateaubriand - thinly sliced fillet flambed at your table served with sauce bèarnaise. For the really ravenous diner, there is the 600 g Fat Tuesday rump or sirloin and the famous Carpet Bag filled with hickory smoked mussels and cheese.
Vegetarian pastas and a vegetarian platter are also available to non meat eating guests, and on top of this, Cattle Baron offers a really cool kids menu filled with great dishes and awesome dessert options.
This restaurant will stay a family favourite for a long time to come.
Somerset West Steakhouse restaurant
This beautifully decorated restaurant is offers diners a relaxed ambience, great service and delicious food. The restaurant has definitely earned its good reputation and is famous for their delicious, succulent steaks, all perfectly prepared to your taste and preference.
Only the best cuts of meat are used and this you can tell the minute your plate arrives. But lets start at the beginning, the starter menu. Wonderful options are available and include the Asian Trio which comprises crispy pork belly in a pineapple chilli sauce, vegetable spring rolls and a tempura prawn. Beef carpaccio, chicken livers, an avocado salad and even risotto are just some of the other choices.
For a main, try the fall-off-the-bone lamb shank, the sticky ginger chicken breast or the simple, yet tasty, linefish. There are some interesting variations on traditional dishes, such as the springbok shank and the chinese braised oxtail.
A great dessert menu tops off this great experience. And, please, don't forget the steaks.
Bellville Steakhouse restaurant
Kings Steakout offers good food in a relaxed family-style atmosphere. The menu is varied and diners are spoilt for choice, but the house speciality remains the succulent steaks, perfectly prepared all the time. King's also serves poultry, pork and seafood dishes. There is an awesome kiddies menu with a difference and the restaurant is fully licensed.
Worcester Mediterranean restaurant
With the Hex River Mountains as its backdrop and an olive plantation that surrounds the restaurant, Olivenbosch Restaurant, located in Worcester offers guests a dining experience with a splendid view and real Boland hospitality.
Visitors can take advantage of the beauty of the natural surroundings by choosing to be seated on the outdoor deck in summer. Rainy winters, with a snow capped mountain in the distance, will however demand a table closer to the fireplace and glass of wine from local selection on offer.
The a la carte menu is mainly Mediterranean with menu items that satisfies tastes all round.
The restaurant is very much family orientated, with a kids’ room to occupy the little ones. Guests can also enjoy the social aspect of the eatery that caters for sport fans and those that love karaoke.
