Olievenfontein offers you absolute peace and tranquility, allowing you an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the great beauty and splendor that Africa has to offer. Guests can sit back and enjoy a good book while listening to the sounds of almost 350 bird species, or watch the various game species on the reserve.

The untamed wilderness and the magnificent wildlife offerings of South Africa will leave you with a lasting impression. A safari at a reserve of this nature makes for an unforgettable family holiday, which is why we offer guests a pleasurable stay with their children. We offer a host of activities which will keep children occupied and entertained while the rains fall, or even just for them to have their own space while staying with us.

We offer transfers to and from the reserve. This option will allow you and your family to take in the many sites that the Waterberg has on offer, including the renowned Waterberg Meander. We will collect you and your family or colleagues from your preferred location, and transfer you in the comfort of either our VW Caravelle or our Land Rover Defender. Alternatively we can arrange a private chartered flight, either by helicopter or by light aircraft.

A hidden gem pitched high upon a hill south west of Marken, a small settlement in the Limpopo Province. The lodge was aptly named Ehlathini, which means ‘in the bush’ as the lodge overlooks the stunning African bushveld.

The lodge is a place of quiet sophistication and tranquil elegance where our guests can experience the true beauty of the African bushveld. You are able to lose yourself in the surrounding nature; the smells, the sounds and rustic visuals. Ehlathini is a place of tranquil relaxation where our guests can determine the pace of their day.

Our nature walks and game drives bring you up-close to an array of bird life, giraffe, zebra, kudu, bluewilde beest and other antelope species. Crisp and clear night skies let you stargaze for hours loosing yourself, almost touching the Southern Cross and Orion’s belt.

Our promise is that you will leave our home in the bush with special memories with a longing to return.
At Ehlathini Lodge we offer you the absolute luxury of Time, Space and Solitude!

You can literally sit for hours on the terrace and watch the animals at the watering hole, listen to the birds in the garden, become one with the sound of flowing water, all whilst sipping on your favourite hot or cold beverage.
If however you feel more adventurous, the following might tickle your fancy.

There is our swimming pool, Game Drives (game viewing of the big four can be arranged on request at neighbouring farms), nature walks, bird watching, exploring Lephalale and surrounds (our closest town), golfing, spas, tours, hunting packages and last but not least we have stargazing picnics.

Madikela Game Lodge is situated in the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, 32 km outside Vaalwater on the Melkrivier Road, and a comfortable two-hour, 15-minutes drive from Pretoria. Madikela, meaning "Place of the Setting Sun", is situated on a limestone plateau which was formed millions of years ago. This limestone, which rests on a granite base, has in time eroded, forming the most amazing rock formations.

The main garden area features a large swimming pool, 18-hole minigolf, a jungle gym, and games room. Accommodation comprises six secluded, thatched, self-catering cottages, each with its own game-viewing deck, a Jacuzzi splash pool, and enclosed barbecue boma.

The Bush Camp is located 80 m from the main swimming pool and consists of four thatched bungalows, each sleeping nine guests. Features at the camp include a ladies and gents ablution block with hot showers and flushing toilets, and a bush kitchen in the barbecue boma with a large fridge-freezer.

Activities include a 4X4 trail which takes approximately five hours to complete, with exit routes provided to shorten the trail if required. The reserve also offers the most wonderful sand stone formations, and many guests have enjoyed climbing onto these rocks for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Waterberg. To view game such as giraffe, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, blesbuck, impala, warthog and baboons, one can either self-drive, cycle or walk. Due to safety issues, buffalo may only be viewed from outside the electrified camp.

In addition, there are three fully licensed restaurants within 4 km of Madikela, where apart from enjoying a fine meal, one can view tigers, white lion, leopard, caracal, hyena, wolves, reptiles, and birds of prey.

Pets allowed under the conditions; must have their own bedding and bowls. No pets allowed on the beds. Pets must be on a leash at all times when out walking.

Pets limited to two small/medium or one large dog. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
