Vredefort Dome Accommodation

Fish Eagle is situated in the Vredefort Dome World Heritage area, which is recognised globally as one of the nine World Heritage Sites in South Africa. This is where the largest meteorite struck the Earth to form a crater no less than 300 km in diameter approximately 2 000 million years ago.

Approximately 2000 million years ago, a meteorite of approximately 10 km in diameter collided with the Earth, causing the biggest and oldest impact site. Thabela Thabeng lies in the midst of this World Heritage Site, nestled in between the mountains and Vaal River only 100 km from Johannesburg.
