We offer trout fishing in well-stocked dams on the property and at an owned property, On The Letaba, a 20-minute drive away. There is a swimming pool and a tennis court for guests; always something to do. Walks and mountain biking in gardens and forests provide additional recreation and exercise.

Enjoy the serenity of the mountains from your private accommodation nestled among beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. This is the ideal stopover toward Kruger National Park and other private game parks.

Tourism Magoebaskloof has established mountain bike routes, which could also be used for hiking, between the various tourism establishments in the area (accommodation, tea gardens etcetera. Visitors to the area will be able to pick up a route from any participating establishment or a hub such as Cheerio Gardens/ Stanford Lake College. The establishment owners will share the responsibility for maintaining routes and ensuring that signage is visible and appropriate. Maps of the routes will also be available. The trails consist of some single track through forests and/or open farm land, existing farm roads and paths, fire boundaries and public country sand roads. To create the optimum linkage, the routes also traverse commercial timber growers’ properties.

Presently there are 4 trails, but these will be added to on a regular and planned basis. The current routes are as follows: Stanford Lake/ Ebenezer Dam: This 5.3 km route is suitable for families with young children. It follows the edge of Stanford Lake and Ebenezer Dam on well used roads and is fairly flat. It can be extended by 3km by following the road along Ebenezer dam further and returning the same way. It can be accessed from Stanford Lake Lodge.

Cheerio/Sequoia: This 5 km route is suitable for families. It passes through the pine plantations, avo orchards and the beautiful gardens of Cheerio and Sequoia along grass paths and roads. The climb to the top of the hill is made worth the effort by the spectacular views of the Wolkberg and Cheerio Valley. It can be accessed from Cheerio Trout Fishing and Holiday Resort, Sequoia and Cheerio Gardens.

Magoebaskloof Adventures: This 10km route is for very experienced mountain bikers. 5 km of technical single track hug the contours of the Letaba Gorge through riverine forest. A steep climb gives spectacular views of Georges Valley before a steep descent back to the start. It can be accessed from Magoebaskloof Adventures.

Cheerio/ Sequoia/Bramasole/ Stanford Lake College: This 25 km route is suitable for experienced riders and weekend warriors who want to test their strength and stamina. It follows roads through plantations, gardens and natural forest, passed secluded dams and babbling streams. The climbs are steep and long but the views from the top over the Ebenezer dam towards the Wolkberg make it all worthwhile. It can be accessed from Cheerio Gardens, Cheerio Trout Lodge, Sequoia, Bramasole, Zwakala and Magoebaskloof Hotel.

Three-bedroom six sleeper luxury self-catering thatched Lodge has a plunge pool and air-conditioning in the main bedroom and lounge with TV. The main bedroom and lounge both have air conditioners that help to make it comfortable throughout the lowveld summer. The second bedroom opens onto an enclosed outside shower area. The third bedroom is upstairs in a loft and opens up onto a balcony above the outside dining table and braai area with it’s own stone fireplace. The kitchen has all the basic equipment needed for casual self-catering, including a driepoot potjie, a microwave oven and a fridge/freezer. A comfortable indoor lounge in the thatched double volume is furnished with a television and overlooks a wrap around view of pure, unspoiled lowveld bush.

The Estate has great wildlife populations that roam freely among the bush lodges. Giraffe, waterbuck, warthog, large herds of impala and buffalo are commonly seen. There are no predators on the Estate, which is perfect for walking, driving and mountain biking among the game. There are two elevated thatched hides overlooking water holes on a perennial stream that runs from the main gate in the west and flows due east towards the Kruger National Park. South of this stream the reserve extends for a further 5000 hectares of wildlife game protection area. At night the nocturnal wildlife is just as plentiful. The whoop of the black backed jackal is as loud as the millions of stars in the Milky Way are bright. If you sit outside at the fireside with the lodge lights dimmed you can expect regular visits from porcupines and warthogs while locating the bark of the male impalas in the dark. The Buffalo can be extremely short tempered and dangerous and should not be approached on foot. Exercise caution when moving past them in your vehicle.

Escape to your own private hide-away. Ideally situated in the Ndlovumzi Private Game Reserve and just a mere 90km from the Kruger National Park, our magical little bushveld cabin promises you an experience of true and unspoiled African bliss.

Use us as your base, to tour and sight-see the many exciting activities in and around our neighbourhood, or you can simply enjoy an experience of peaceful African Bush, which Ndlovumzi has to offer.

Our cabin is a quiet, get-away bush retreat for people wanting to get away from it all, and its close enough to take a day trip to Kruger Park too. Fill your days with fun and enjoyment, and then look forward to coming home to complete peace, tranquility, and the private seclusion of your own little hide-away.

Together with the emphasis on 'authentic African bush', our adorable little cabin has been appropriately furnished and decorated to enhance the peace and tranquility of its natural surroundings; providing you with a comfortable and relaxing space to come and unwind in, and enjoy your stay. The Cabin is completely private, self-contained and air conditioned. It contains one bedroom with a double bed to comfortably sleep two, a lounge with two separate sleeper couches to sleep an additional two, a private bathroom with shower only, and a private kitchen. Directly outside the cabin a thatched entertainment area and fire pit overlook a near-by waterhole, so you can relax to the sounds of the birds, revel at the sights at the waterhole, and most of all, experience the exhilaration of being surrounded by wildlife only a few meters away from you.

Open-air parking is free during your stay with us, and is conveniently situated directly outside the cabin.

The Cabin is a fully self-catering unit, and since we are about 20km from the nearest shops, please remember to bring your own food and supplies with you. The Cabin has however been equipped with kitchen crockery, cutlery, bed linen, towels, extra blankets, toilet paper, soap, candles, paraffin lamps, purified bottled water and electricity. At Ndlovumzi we pride ourselves on having the best of both worlds, because not only are we surrounded by wild, unspoiled African bushveld, but not having the Big 5 also enables us to enjoy the freedom to walk freely among the wild fauna and flora in the reserve. Giraffe, zebra, antelope, wild dog, monkeys, baboons, hippos and crocodiles, and elephants have been known to walk the river.

Our little African Bush-Cabin is a wonderful holiday get-away for the whole family, including the kids; but remember it is in the bush, so there are snakes, scorpions and other insects that bite. If you and your family love the bush, you will love our place. There is a fence around the garden and a braai area, which offers 'peace of mind' to moms and dads with little ones, who want to wander off on their own to explore. Our housekeeping staff are available daily, to ensure that your cabin is kept clean and comfortable throughout your stay; and that your fire pit is kept clean, prepared, and lit for you; as and when you wish.

So come and join us. Take a hike, a gentle stroll, or cycle past a herd of plains game like antelope, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest and many more. Enjoy the amusing antics of the warthogs, as you enjoy a romantic picnic nestled in the bush. Or simply soak up the magic of the African bushveld, as you spend a lazy day watching the Hippo play, in the splashes and pools of the river. Whether you enjoy your morning coffee mixed with golden rays of sunrise, or your sundowners mixed with calls of the wild and crimson sunsets, you will find that our little African Bush-Cabin Retreat makes your heart feel at home.
