Vaalwater mainly supports the farming community. We loved the Waterberg area - scenery is stunning. The road to Vaalwater is in excellent condition making the journey a pleasure. We will be back to explore this area.

We visited the area in the fall - a beautiful time when the weather is still warm and the veld stil boasts an abundance of everything beautifull. We were accomodated at Jobedi Ga Farm. A pleasant stay with comfortable clean lodgings. The only complaint was that we didnt have a 4x4 vehicle which would have made traveling in and around Jobedi much easier. We visitied Vaalwater on the Saturday morning and found a bustling town with a healthy vibe. Interesting little shops and a defenite community feel to it. I would defenitely visit again. Vaalwater also seems to be a defenite tourist attraction and used as a starting point for many Safaris.

We experienced a very pleasant stay at Dunroamin. Quiet and beautiful surroundings. Had a nice walk ion the farm - saw plenty of animals. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Will recommend it anyone who are looking for a quiet, relaxing and tranquil week-end.

We stayed at Jobedi for the long weekend from 27th April through to 1st May. Because of the bad condition of the roads we were advised to take the more scenic northernly route going on towards Marken. This resulted in us going to Vaalwater over the weekend to go and fill up with petrol. Not a very large town, yet steeped in history. As we drove through I thought about our first time there when we came looking for a road built around a tree. Regrettably we didnt go looking for it again, but made another very pleasant stop at Zeederbergs. After refueling we browsed the little shops and even visited the Spar where we bought a refreshing ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised at the busy vibe and I did enjoy watching all the different vehicles of all shapes, sorts, and different game farms or hunting operations stop to refuel, being it petrol or supplies. I got the impression that Vaalwater was a definite main stream stop-over and an important one at that for tourists and the staff that run the myriad of farms and operations in the area thus doing their bit in creating much needed employment as well as bringing in foreign capital what with all the tourists as well as SA citizens that visit. I enjoyed the visit to Vaalwater as well as Jobedi. Limpopo is a truly beautiful part of SA that I love to go to.

Vaalwater is one of the most scenic parts of the Waterberg region in the Limpopo province. Its is rich in Wildlife resorts that fits all sorts of getaways. A prefect small town to escape the city buzz and recharge.
Explore Vaalwater with it temperate climate and enjoy a time stand still opportunity.

I visit in Vaalwater the Jamila Game Reserve. Can recommend it because of the very stylish guest-houses, always friendly staff, excellent to dine. The Ranger are always keen to find the big-five for the guest.

Depending on your budget Vaalwater has both family friendly cottages or go the whole way and have all the luxuries of an exclusive lodge with all the trimmings. Read, relax, 4x4 for the more adventurous, abseling, elephant rides, quadbike rides, horse riding and much more. Vaalwater area caters for all tastes, young at heart and the older folk that enjoy the peace and quiet and the night sounds of the African bushveld.. Vaalwater town has all you need to 'fill up' those tummies after all the fresh air and exercise for the little ones. Nature lovers, we have it all.

Beautiful landscape. Need a bakkie or 4x4 to travel on the gravel roads off the main road. Wanted to visit Lapalala Game Reserve, however it is part of land claims, animals were sold and there is now nothing - very sad. Many of these game lodges/farms seem to be involved with land claims. It will be a shame if these places are left desolate and left to ruin.

We found Vaalwater to be a typically welcoming country town. It had all we might have needed and people were friendly. We felt very welcome.

Something must be done about the roads. It is the only reason keeping me from going here again.
