Grab the kids and hang out at Umhlanga’s Main Beach for a fun family festival this Easter weekend. Umhlanga Tourism will be hosting their Easter Festival on Umhlanga's Main Beach and the Millennium stage from Easter Saturday until Tuesday the 14th of April. Games, competitions and entertainment suitable for the whole family will keep visitors to the beach occupied from 10am to 2pm daily.
Listen to the smooth sounds of The BnB Sure Jazz on the Rocks, an open-air concert taking place on the grass area next to Umhlanga's iconic lighthouse from 3 to 6pm on Sunday. Featuring the George Mari Band, the concert is suitable for all ages and is ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon. The band will play from their extensive repertoire a mix of popular Jazz pieces, original compositions and Afro-Jazz numbers. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and blanket, kick back and enjoy the music in this beautiful beachside setting.
Kids will be kept busy with lots of action and an assortment of fun competitions. Young ones can have their fill with ice-cream eating and cola-drinking contests, join in a sing-along show, strut their stuff at a mini talent show, hunt for Easter eggs, and meet the Easter Bunny. Beach games include mini soccer, egg throwing, treasure hunt and egg-and-spoon races, and for adults and kids - the mighty tug-o'-war!
