Bunyonyi Overland Resort is situated on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, in Uganda. This is the ideal base to explore the lake, or a wonderful stopover on your way to the mountain gorillas in the national parks of Rwanda.

Accommodation is provided in comfortable Safari Tents, Rooms and Cottages. We also offer a self-camping option in the spacious garden for those with their own equipment, as well as a comfortable rent-a-mobile tent with or without bedding. The resort is ecologically built with local materials and is locally owned, providing important employment opportunities for the people around the lake. Lake Bunyonyi has no crocodiles or hippos and due to its altitude, malaria is rather scarce.

With many years of providing tourism services to visitors to Lake Bunyonyi, we offer great value for money facilities and a very professional service. We work directly with local guides from within the community to escort you on village walks. Located in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park and conveniently situated for wildlife viewing and Kyambura chimp tracking, Elizabeth Bush Lodge forms an excellent base for your safari. The small-scale set-up built along ecological principals and the unique setting, where animals room in and out the camp, offers a unique opportunity to experience a safari as it once was in East Africa.

The rooms are made from a fine combination of canvas and local materials, and are built to ensure the best views on the seasonal Kamera River. Each room features its own private en-suite bathroom with an eco toilet and an outside shower where two shower-heads allow couples to take their starlit shower together.

As the bush lodge is located just outside the National Park, we can offer guests a walking safari through our surroundings. Several circuits through the open savannah or along the crater lakes of Queen Elizabeth National Park rewards visitors with a marvellous safari experience. In addition, the riverine forest of Kyambura gorge is home to a habituated chimp community, and guided walking tours, organized by UWA, offer a chance to see these and other primates in their natural habitat.
