The Great Selous Tented Camp

This is the only small, personalized camp in Mikumi and it is set on a rocky kopje on the Mkata flood plain. It presides over the Mwanamboga waterhole, the best game viewing area of the park.

Rufiji River Camp is situated in the Selous Game Reserve, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982. The Rufiji River is a sprawling waterway, with five distinctive lakes all joined together with a myriad of channels.

Selous Wilderness Camp is situated along the edges of the wide, meandering Rufiji River which is one of the largest water systems in East Africa. With its associated wetlands, lakes and swamps, it is one of the most outstanding ecological systems in the whole of Eastern Africa.

'Vuma' translated from Kiswahili means "a good rumour that is spread with the blowing wind". Now a reality rather than just a rumour, it is the ideal place to evoke the true spirit of Africa.
