Set in the southern reaches of Tanzania’s remote Tarangire National Park, Oliver’s Camp is an echo of the early days of East African safaris; when the camp offered a warm bed and crackling fire at the end of the day, yet the real magic was out there in the wilderness. Alongside the 10 en-suite tents that make up Oliver’s Camp, Little Oliver’s with just five tents offers a more private and intimate safari experience. Neither lack creature comforts, but both camps are aimed at travellers searching for untamed Africa.

For Tarangire is truly a wild land; a land of lion and leopard competing for prey, of enormous elephants dwarfed only by the towering baobab trees. Unlike the Maasai Mara and Serengeti, in Tarangire guests can enjoy walking safaris, off-road driving and wilderness fly-camps. This is a park where animals reign; a park that offers rich rewards for exploring off the beaten track.

WHY CHOOSE OLIVER’S AND LITTLE OLIVER’S CAMP?
• Iconic old East Africa safari camp feel.
• Exciting variety of wilderness experiences.
• Exceptional walking guides.
• Exclusivity of the camp in the more remote southern section of Tarangire.
• A year round safari destination.

One of the best-kept secrets in Africa, Sayari Camp is tucked away in a remote region of the northern Serengeti, perfectly positioned to witness the great migration crossing the Mara River.

The vast plains and woodlands around the river allow for undisturbed game viewing all year around. Exceptional guides ensure close encounters with the migratory wildebeest and zebra and the staggering numbers of big cats, crocodile, elephant, giraffe and plains game all thriving in this magical Serengeti landscape.

Sayari Camp is regarded by many as the finest safari camp in East Africa due to a combination of superb location, elegant design, excellent facilities and a truly intimate atmosphere. Almost every feature of Sayari Camp overlooks the untouched landscape of the Serengeti; the spacious tents, the huge beds, the large verandas, the swimming pool and even the baths. The line that separates this unique camp from the Serengeti outside is hard to distinguish.

With massage treatments, delicious cuisine and friendly, attentive service, the camp manages to achieve a perfect balance between relaxation and adventure.

Like all Asilia camps, Sayari is proud to be carbon neutral since late 2009. Sayari Camp has played a pivotal role in the long-term conservation of the north-western Serengeti. The arrival of the camp has secured the long-term conservation of this area of the park. Employment at the camp and a fruit and vegetable growing program initiated by Sayari have provided opportunities for the villages at the park’s border to benefit from the tourism in the national park.

Enjoy a bush breakfast at the river’s edge, waiting for the wildebeest to cross as the sun rises over the Serengeti; experience a morning you will always remember. As the day goes on, lose yourself in the rolling plains that stretch into Kenya or follow the Mara River in search of hippos and some of the world’s largest crocodiles.

In addition to game drives led by expert guides, Sayari Camp offers the rare opportunity to experience the Serengeti on foot; for an unmatched sense of freedom and an exhilarating connection to the sights and sounds of the bush surrounding you. The camp itself is a wonderful place to spend time. Even the most enthusiastic safari-goers might end up taking a day off from busy game drive schedules to simply read or relax by the poolside, absorbing the marvellous vista in front of the camp.

Wild and remote Lake Natron lies in the north east of Tanzania, in between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti plains. Here you'll find Lake Natron Tented Camp, a luxurious affair situated amongst spectacular scenery. Unique in its setting, Lake Natron Tented Camp is set back in a grove of trees slightly removed from the dusty terrain of the lake. Clean safari tents offer showers, comfortable beds and a private verandah, while a fully stocked bar and candlelit restaurant ensure guests have a cold drink and delicious food at the end of an arduous climb or long day's walking.

Situated at the base of Africa's only active volcano in the great Rift Valley, Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. Home to millions of tiny crustaceans, the lake is a haven for literally thousands of lesser flamingos and it is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. Here it is the landscape rather than the animals that is the attraction - the area around the lake inhabited by Masai is dry, desolate and hauntingly beautiful.

For many of our guests, a Lake Natron excursion and climbing Oldonyo Lengai is the main highlight and achievement of their stay. No special equipment is required, but it is a hard climb to the top through notoriously spiky vegetation. You will however be rewarded with some spectacular magma flows bubbling at over 500°C at the top. If a slightly less demanding walk would suit you, we can arrange for a walk followed by either a picnic breakfast or sundowners by the lake. There is also a nearby freshwater waterfall where you can swim, cool off and simply relax.

Less than an hour by plane from Arusha, this seasonal luxury tented camp in the Serengeti is...
Less than an hour by plane from Arusha, this seasonal luxury tented camp in the Serengeti is located amid the largest and most varied concentration of wildlife on the African continent. The Serengeti, home of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, provides the best chance of seeing the Big 5. Mwanga Moto is comprised of eight spacious guest tents, plus a main tent with dining area, lounge, game room and library. The camp is repositioned three times each year within the Serengeti to maintain close proximity to the Great Migration, one of nature’s most amazing spectacles.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives are the main attraction, and our customized safari vehicles are specially designed for use in rugged African bush. These Toyota Land Cruisers are open-sided and open-topped, which allows for uninterrupted game viewing. It is possible to see multiple prides of lion, the rare nocturnal serval cat before breakfast, and thousands of wildebeest before lunch, not to mention countless zebra, giraffe, elephant, hyena, cheetahs and hippos.

But here in the Serengeti, it is all about the Great Migration. Since our camp is repositioned three times each season, it is always within striking distance, so expect a game drive to see the enormous herds of wildebeest as they make their endless journey.

Like all our guests, you will be dazzled by the quality and sheer variety of dishes our chefs can prepare in the middle of the bush. Enjoy a hearty breakfast in camp before heading out on an early morning game drive. Lunch is provided in the bush, and there are always snacks and drinks on the vehicles. The African sundowner, or happy hour, is an important part of each day, and will materialise in the most unexpected places, allowing for the well-fortified enjoyment of yet another sublime Serengeti sunset.

Finally, after a long but exciting day of game viewing, take a well-deserved hot shower before adjourning to the campfire for pre-dinner cocktails and wines. Dinners at Mwanga Moto are a three or four-course affair complemented by a selection of fine wines. After a delightful dinner, relax in the library with cognac and cigars on offer.
