Wild Clover Farm is situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, close to Stellenbosch and Paarl, and a half-hour drive from the city centre and 25 minutes from Franschhoek. Our self-catering cottages are likely the only accommodation in the Winelands with a perfect view of Table Mountain, overlooking a private game sanctuary.
After watching the sun set over Table Mountain, enjoy a slow walk up to the restaurant, Morituri, for pizza and other Italian delights. Awake to the sound of the resident pair of Fish eagles, always on the hunt for a trout breakfast, and enjoy your breakfast on the patio before taking a drive through to Villiera, Fairview and the many other wine estates in the area.
The cottages border the Villiera Game Sanctuary, which is home to over 200 head of a variety of antelope and zebra, and the dam is a bird-watcher's paradise. Guests can enjoy a braai on the patio and watch the sun going down, with no hint of traffic or the city, just the peace that you feel watching wild animals grazing before settling down for the night. Each cottage offers superb self-catering accommodation for two people, and children can be accommodated on request.
The old manor house on the farm Klawervlei was converted into the restaurant, Morituri. With outside seating in beautiful surroundings under oak trees, the restaurant offers a tranquil environment in which to enjoy our delicious Tuscan and Italian cuisine. We are a family restaurant and encourage children. Pop into the Wild Clover farm stall and fill your pantry with farm honey, game biltong, dry-cured meats, fresh venison, pasture-fed beef, boutique wine and real ale, brewed on the property.
Klawervlei farm’s old barn and winery, has been converted into an ideal function venue with a warm atmosphere and picturesque setting. The main hall can accommodate 80 to 100 seated guests for a wedding or similar function. To top it all, the old grape-receiving platform has been refurbished into a delightful bar area.
