How cool is Soweto! What a brilliant vibe at the opening and closing of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It's the place to be so grab your loved one or friends to spit or swallow at this stylish festival that showcases some of the best wines in South Africa.
Bringing the vineyards to Soweto, and Soweto to the vineyards. Will you rub shoulders with South Africa’s social elite? This festival is making history by being the most successful trend-setting annual lifestyle event held in Soweto. On the Soweto Wine Festival guest list is a large VIP set of high-ranking Government Officials; CEO’s of multi-national companies; celebrities as well as local and national trendsetters.
Now considered the most popular lifestyle festival of its kind in Soweto, the 2008 festival attracted more than 5, 500 visitors and an excess of 850 different wines from 115 wineries. This year 6, 500 visitors are expected as well as an equally awesome turnout of wineries.
The festival has been increased to three evenings and there will be a large marquee providing comfortable space for everyone to enjoy tasting the wines of Mzansi. Guests will be able to sip away at a wide range of styles and cultivars from red to white, sweet to dry, as well as fortified, sparkling and Cap Classique until they find the ONE!

Times: The doors open to the public in the main Arena Hall, University of Johannesburg, Old Potch Road, Soweto from
6pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday and 5pm to 10pm on Sunday.
Venue: The main Arena Hall, University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus situated on Old Potch Road, which is one the main entrances into Soweto and is just further down the road past Baragwaneth Chris Hani Hospital.
