Famously known across the globe as the Greatest Shoal on Earth, the sardine run is
the annual migration of massive shoals that move into
KwaZulu-Natal waters in the winter months. Winter in Southern KZN used to be a well-kept secret, but recently
the sardine run has become a popular draw card for visitors
to escape the winter. The Sardine Festival, to take place
from the June - July 2008, promises unforgettable
experiences
for visitors with a full programme of entertainment
involving marine, beach, cultural and music activities.
