This piece of undisturbed Africa is where nature is truly in its element. Discover how fantastically good you really can feel.

True relaxation is an art; let us show you.

Etali’s delectable cuisine is a contemporary fusion of traditional African with an Asian twist. Meals are light and healthy with lots of fresh seasonal and organically grown vegetables, fruit and herbs. We serve Glenwood Shiraz and Glenwood Semillon Sauvignon Blanc wines. Other than fine dining in our dining room or main deck, we offer traditional South African dinners in our lesaka kraal built-in stone. Tswana elders used to gather in lesaka to discuss tribal issues. Deep in the heart of the unspoilt Zulu Kingdom, lies the eMakhosini Valley known as “Valley of the Kings". It is here where many early Zulu kings lie buried. This area is the cradle of Zulu history.

Emakhosini Hideaway is tucked away in the "Valley of the Kings", located 4 km from umGungundlovo on a private game farm that forms part of the Mkhumbane Game Ranch. There is a difference of about 280 m in altitude between the highest and lowest points on the farm. This gives rise to a rich diversity and interesting mix of fauna and flora.

The cottage is eco-friendly, built with natural stone collected on the farm, and is solar powered. It boasts a private lapa/boma area, a spacious, sunny deck overlooking a farm dam and panoramic views of the historic eMakhosini Valley. A lot has been done to make this cottage a well equipped and peaceful home from home. The cottage sleeps up to four people with one bedroom and en-suite bathroom and two single beds in the open-plan lounge area. On special request additional guests can camp or sleep on the front covered verandah or around the fire in the boma, weather permitting - an experience not to be missed. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, and hot and cold running water, a kettle and cutlery and crockery for six people. Gas is used for cooking on a two-plate gas stove. Solar panel lights and a solar geyser is available for warm water. Paraffin lamps are used to enhance the bush atmosphere around the boma area at night for a real bushveld experience.

Game and scenic drives are available on request. The closest shop is in Ulundi, 30 km away. Petrol stations, a Pick ‘n Pay Supermarket, a Shoprite, a Spar, a liquor store, KFC and Nando's are all 40 km away. This is a low risk malaria, please consult your doctor.

At Mvuradona you are guaranteed to experience the peace and tranquillity of the bushveld. Your stay with us will leave you relaxed, well rested and filled with memories of an unforgettable wild life experience.

Mvuradona lies in the heart of the bushveld with wildlife on our doorstep. Sit back, take a stroll or ride a bicycle while you enjoy sightings and sounds of hippos, elephants, lions and much more from the Crocodile River.

Our riverside accommodation depicts an authentic African thatch lodge with suites beautifully appointed in white linens and teak furniture. Large rooms and open communal areas promote a warm atmosphere and a feeling of personal space. Currently guests can choose between the Honeymoon Suite, the Double Room or the Twin Room. The Double and Twin Rooms are inter-leading and can be booked as a family unit (children would only pay half-price in this arrangement). For ultimate privacy and relaxation you can hire out the entire lodge on either a self-catering or catered package.

Our four luxury bush suites offer privacy and a traditional lodge atmosphere, whilst maintaining the tranquil theme of Mvuradona. These beautiful rooms are separated from the main buildings by wooden walkways and include a king size bed (additional single sleeper available on request), open plan bathroom and private patio.

Dining is always a special and intimate affair at Mvuradona. We take great pride in delicious wholesome meals that are served with a smile. Whether you are being spoiled with a refreshing breakfast outdoors accompanied by the cheerful birdsong or being warmed up by the crackling fire and treated with a mouth-watering three course dinner, it’s always a memorable delight. After dinner sink into a chair around our fire-pit and relax while identifying the nightlife sounds of the bush and the bright stars of the African night sky.

Our pool deck overlooks the bushveld where our guests can relax and enjoy the frequent visits of the resident zebra, giraffe, warthog, impala and other little creatures like the mongoose and franklin. This is the perfect spot to spend those hot summer afternoons.

Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the splendour of Mvuradona.

Jaci's Safari and Tree Lodges

Jaci's Lodges are situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, boasting 75,000 hectares of Top Ten Game territory where you can expect to see a wide variety and large numbers of plains game including eland, gemsbok, waterbuck, wildebeest, and zebra. You can also enjoy sightings of the endangered wild dog, black and white rhino, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, hippo, and giraffe to name a few, as well as over 340 species of birds.

Jaci's Safari Lodge comprises of seven tent rooms, the Safari Suite, and the exclusive two-bedroom Nare Suite. All the rooms and the Nare Suite are built using shaggy thatched roofs and canvas walls to create a tented feel. Each room has an open-plan bathroom with a hand-built rock bath and outdoor safari shower. A private wooden viewing deck at the entrance overlooks a small stream where animals and birds come to drink.

The Main Lodge is curved around an ancient termite mound and includes a spacious lounge, open-plan kitchen and dining room, curio shop, and upstairs bar. Enjoy meals in our enclosed boma or under the stars at a bush braai after the excitement of a day's exceptional game viewing.

The Nare Suite is an exclusive bush retreat, named after the resident buffalo bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the suite, along with numerous other animal visitors. The suite accommodates a maximum of four guests in bush luxury and privacy. The bedrooms each have open-plan bathrooms, with a hand made rock bath and outdoor safari shower. A wooden viewing deck overlooks a fabulous waterhole and encompasses a private swimming pool. The lounge and outdoor dining area are equipped with a self-contained kitchen where our chefs can prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat, should you so desire. A private game vehicle and professional guide are also available to guests.

The Safari Suite is beautifully positioned overlooking the Marico River and is prefect for families with older children. The children are accommodated in a loft room upstairs, and downstairs a living room leads onto the main bedroom overlooking the private plunge pool and the river. A separate bathroom has a wonderful bath and features an outdoor shower under a giant Tambotie tree. With Jaci’s trademark shaggy thatch roofs and sliding doors opening to the magnificent views, you can enjoy the privacy afforded by the Safari Suite. We recommend children no younger than six year of age in the suite as there are stairs leading up to the loft room, the outside deck area does not have a railing, and the pool is unprotected.

Jaci's Tree Lodge has eight Tree Houses, each encompassing a giant Tamboetie or Leadwood tree. Each Tree House is constructed amongst the riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 m off the ground, and built utilising a combination of rosewood, thatch, and stacking doors so that the forest surrounds are invited inside. An open-plan en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor jungle shower allow you to enjoy the forest surrounds. Relax on the deck in front of the room, in the Main Lodge, or wander to the forest pool to cool off. Raised wooden walkways suspended in the forest canopy lining the banks of the Marico River, connect with the extraordinary Main Lodge and its generous facilities.

Children of all ages are very welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 12 years and under sharing with their parents qualify for a special kiddies rate, which includes child minders and the Jungle Drive. Children aged 5 - 12 are included on the family game drive and will be given dinner in the dining room on their return from the evening drive. The little ones aged 0 - 4 are taken on a separate Jungle Drive during the day. This is anything from half an hour to an hour depending on the interest levels of the kiddies on the drive. Parents are welcome to come along but must not behave like adults. Child minders can look after your treasures while you are on morning and evening game drives, with dinner being served at 18:00 in the dining room for the little ones.
