City Bowl Bistro restaurant
This restaurant and beer bar is a treat after a day of business or sightseeing in Cape Town. Apart from the awesome brews that are their signature trademark, they serve good hearty food in sizable portions and at competitive prices.
Here you can enjoy charcuterie boards that is bound to satisfy, delicious sandwiches and their smoky beef prego, straight from the barbecue.
Big, filling breakfasts are also on offer and offers a great start to any day. For the more refined diner, the salmon is a definite winner.
But it's not just beer. There is an extensive wine list that will not disappoint.
This laid-back beer bar and eatery, complete with ping pong table for entertainment, offers a 'real' experience in the midst of city madness.
Gordons Bay Tapas restaurant
This happening spot in Gordons Bay is definitely the place to be whether you're young or just young at heart. Bar-bay-dos offers a simple menu that consists mainly of tapas-style foods, and the main attraction here is the sublime cocktails that are mixed to perfection.
Bar-bay-dos has live music acts two to three times a week and the variety ranges from rock to 80's to latin tunes.
The menu is small and dishes include grilled Portuguese sardines either rolled in coarse salt and grilled the traditional way or butterflied and grilled, served with spicy Portuguese chilli salsa and rice. Be sure to try the Jalapeno chilli poppers stuffed with feta and cream cheese, an ideal dish to share. Beef schnitzel, succulent espatada and butter-filled prawns are also on offer.
A variety of seafood can also be enjoyed and make a point of trying the Mississippi mud pie for dessert - it really is as indulgent as it sounds.
Goodwood Bistro restaurant
In the midst of the bustling Grand West Casino Complex you will find this gem of a restaurant and music venue, a calm respite from the outside hustle.
Jackson Hall is beautifully decorated and exudes a warm, casual, yet upmarket ambience. The leather couches invite you to relax and the fittings and finishes are a great mix between the modern and days gone by.
Jackson Hall serves light meals, but the simple menu does not disappoint. Try the delicious calamari crumbed in herbs and spices. For the hungrier diner there are burgers and awesome Italian-style pastas on offer. Dishes are very well priced and a light meal here is almost sure to suit the pocket.
Jackson Hall offers a variety of cocktails, perfect companions to the beautiful, ye olde jazz music constantly filling the background (or foreground for that matter).
Knysna Tapas restaurant
Tapas & Oysters is the place where great food, good friends and sticky fingers meet. It’s all about Knysna’s laid-back lifestyle, that’s why we like to say that 34 Tapas & Oysters is “Not too shabby... Not too chic... definitely dockside.”
Join us every day of the year in our bright and cheerful restaurant with its beautiful views over the Knysna Lagoon for oysters (the whole range, of course, fresh from our own holding tanks), tapas (with a South African twist, naturally), cocktails (including the coolest mojitos around), or a glass of Knysna’s famous Mitchell’s beer, which like 34 itself, is a celebration of the way we like to live down here beside the lagoon.
V and A Waterfront Bistro restaurant
V and A Waterfront
The Grand Cafe and Beach is one of the trendiest places to be seen in Cape Town. Beach cafe style meets Parisian chic with vast crystal chandeliers, Persian rugs, rich fabrics and antique furniture. This eclectic mix of style and panache is set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain, with views that are out of this world.
The menu is melange of old meets new, with fabulous east meets west fusion, as well as tried and tested classics and modern contemporary dishes. Pushing the envelope with its unique style, the Grand Cafe and Beach offers patrons a unique dining experience. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu is exciting and varied, and is filled with strong flavours, fresh ingredients and fabulously innovative combinations. The Grand favourites include tempura prawns, classic Caesar salad, bouillabaisse, fillet béarnaise and an out of this world crayfish sandwich. The Grand Cafe and Beach also offers diners fabulous thin crusted gourmet pizzas, served on long wooden platters.
