Characters

Cape Town Bistro restaurant in Cape Town
This hip and happening spot in Cape Town is quaint, funky, bustling and just plain fun. At prices that cannot easily be beaten, Characters offers something for everyone, from early morning breakfasts to 'early morning' cocktails. The menu is extensive and caters for all tastes. With light meals like butternut and blue cheese quiche with onion marmalade and a fresh green salad and tagliatelle with mascarpone, cherry tomatoes, rocket and fresh rosemary you simply cannot go wrong. Try one of the simple, but tasty sarmies, a delectable pizza or a packed burger if you are not in the mood for too much fuss. The bar environment is relaxing and bustling at the same time and you can enjoy a cocktail or shooter while checking out dear Marilyn on the wall. The restaurant hosts quite a few events like speed dating nights, karaoke evenings, DJ evenings and quiz nights, so it is advised to enquire. To cut a long story short, this is fun!

Mainland China in Claremont

Mainland China

Claremont Chinese restaurant in Claremont
This traditional Chinese restaurant is warm and inviting, with that extra special Chinese flair. Stark contrasting blacks and reds, paper lanterns and fortune cookies on the counters turn this space into Mainland China. Something to try is their stunning buffet, complete with chow mein, chop suey, egg fried rice, spring rolls, and all the other popular favourites when it comes to Chinese cuisine. The restaurant also offers dim sums and their sushi menu is quite comprehensive with the regular maki, nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls and fashion sandwiches......and more. With a great ambience, great value for money and great food that is prepared with passion, Mainland China definitely is a super power.

Zebra Crossing in Hermanus

Zebra Crossing

Hermanus Bistro restaurant in Hermanus
Zebra Crossing is a bistro with a buzz. Here visitors to the scenic sea side town of Hermanus experience the establishment’s welcoming atmosphere when they mingle with the locals. The eatery offers a cosmopolitan menu and at weekends there have been rumours about dancing on the tables… The restaurant, that only seats thirty, offers seating indoors as well as outdoors and has a fully licensed bar area. Expect simple bistro style food that includes some Chinese and Thai dishes. The restaurant also has Seafood and caters meals for vegetarians. Zebra Crossing is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Despite its limited capacity, this establishment is popular as it exudes character and has good vibe all round. Here the saying “There are no strangers in the world, only friends you haven’t yet met” certainly applies.
