Century City Deli restaurant
Anat Apter's grandfather started a family business in 1945. In 1991, Anat started to further this business at the Bruma Flea Market and this popular food chain has now grown to over 30 stores all over South Africa.
Enjoy real Middle Eastern flavours at very reasonable prices. The ever-popular shwarma is available in beef chicken and lamb, and for the really hungry, the lamb burgers come in super sizes.
The falafel is a favourite and is filled with tahina, humus and vegetables. All meals are served with your choice of pickled gherkin, jalapeno chilli, peppers, onions, sauerkraut and fresh tomato, cucumber, cabbage and brinjals.

De Seemans Taphuis is perched on a cliff overlooking the Gansbaai harbour. The views from the balcony are, to say the least, fantastic! Many a great sunset has been seen from here with the harbour and boat lights slowly flickering on.
This is a laidback restaurant and bar and beach wear is almost mandatory in summer. Winter has everyone huddling inside in the warm atmosphere. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and service cannot be faulted. De Seemans Taphuis is family friendly and there is a lawn in front of the deck and a trampoline for the kids.
The meals are typical bistro-pub cuisine with some outrageous, or interesting, additions being added on a regular basis. Newlands Bistro restaurant
This laid-back restaurant in the heart of Newlands serves hearty food and provides a bustling, vibey atmosphere. This is the epitomy of 'the meeting place' and the homely feel adds to the warmth.
The service is top notch and the efficiency the same. Diners can sit in- or outside - the outside area boasts beautiful views of the surrounds. This place is often visited by our local rugby heroes as it is situated right by the Newlands Rugby Stadium.
Breakfast and lunch are served and the dishes are unpretentious, but hearty and satisfying. An extensive pizza menu is available and the tramezzini's with various fillings are definitely recommended. Panini's and regular toasties are also available. Salads, light meals, wraps and yummy pasta's complete the menu.
The restaurant is fully licensed and offers quite a few brews on tap. This is a fun, laid-back experience not to be missed.
Pearly Beach Bistro restaurant
Die Rooibier is next to the café in Pearly Beach. It has been running for a long time and a well-known establishment in Pearly Beach. Die Rooibier is a come-as-you-are kind of place and everybody you meet here will greet you with a smile. If you are looking to speak to some locals for some fishing advice, this is your pit stop.
The menu is pub style with some good seafood dishes available – well, it is Pearly Beach. The food is freshly prepared and the milkshakes made from real ice cream. With its prime location opposite the harbour at the beginning of Kalk Bay, the aptly named ‘The Home of Waffles and Pancakes’ on Main Road is a tribute to decadence in every flavour.
