Cape Town Portuguese restaurant
This delightful Portuguese restaurant serves up traditional Portuguese favourites with a twist. Try the toasted Portuguese bread with liver pate or the beef or chicken prego rolls - a must for the spice lover. The melt-in-your-mouth rump steak in white wine and cream is a must-try. Hatfield Portuguese restaurant
This authentic Portuguese restaurant brings home the flavours, charm and hospitality of the old school seafaring days of this culture. The interior and vibe creates an atmosphere brimming with friendliness and homeliness. The passion that is put into every dish is clearly visible and the enthusiasm of the owners and staff inspiring.
The menu is large and contains something for everybody. Traditional Portuguese favourites like Peri Peri Chicken Livers and Moelas, beef fillet cubes in Prego Sauce can be enjoyed. For the diner that isn't squeamish, there is the Figado de Galinha, translate chicken giblets. Clean ox-tripe in a light curry with white beans and chouriço is another adventurous option. The more conservative palate can try the coconut lamb curry or the delectable prawns.
The Catemba Seafood Platter is perfect for sharing over a bottle or four of wine and contains six lipsmacking lemon butter prawns, four butter garlic mussels, 150 g calamari, two Portuguese sardines and one hake fillet. The 300g Portuguese fillet steak and egg topped with authentic prego sauce is not for the faint-hearted.

Tzaneen Portuguese restaurant
Crawdaddy's is the bustling, relaxed eatery at Hotel@Tzaneen. The restaurant is renowned for its family friendly feel, as well as its large menu and hearty food. Value for money dishes infused with flavours from Portugal, the Mediterranean and even Thailand can be tried and a great beverage list is available. Dining areas include a smoking section, a non-smoking section, and a large outside deck area. There is also a private dining cellar that can accommodate function groups.
Gansbaai Bistro restaurant
De Seemans Taphuis is perched on a cliff overlooking the Gansbaai harbour. The views from the balcony are, to say the least, fantastic! Many a great sunset has been seen from here with the harbour and boat lights slowly flickering on.
This is a laidback restaurant and bar and beach wear is almost mandatory in summer. Winter has everyone huddling inside in the warm atmosphere. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and service cannot be faulted. De Seemans Taphuis is family friendly and there is a lawn in front of the deck and a trampoline for the kids.
The meals are typical bistro-pub cuisine with some outrageous, or interesting, additions being added on a regular basis. Cold draughts are always a popular item and a good combination with the great tasting meals available. Sit down for a wholesome meal and refreshment with the family and enjoy the views of Gansbaai.

Newlands Bistro restaurant
This laid-back restaurant in the heart of Newlands serves hearty food and provides a bustling, vibey atmosphere. This is the epitomy of 'the meeting place' and the homely feel adds to the warmth.
The service is top notch and the efficiency the same. Diners can sit in- or outside - the outside area boasts beautiful views of the surrounds. This place is often visited by our local rugby heroes as it is situated right by the Newlands Rugby Stadium.
Breakfast and lunch are served and the dishes are unpretentious, but hearty and satisfying. An extensive pizza menu is available and the tramezzini's with various fillings are definitely recommended. Panini's and regular toasties are also available. Salads, light meals, wraps and yummy pasta's complete the menu.
The restaurant is fully licensed and offers quite a few brews on tap. This is a fun, laid-back experience not to be missed.
Pearly Beach Bistro restaurant
Die Rooibier is next to the café in Pearly Beach. It has been running for a long time and a well-known establishment in Pearly Beach. Die Rooibier is a come-as-you-are kind of place and everybody you meet here will greet you with a smile. If you are looking to speak to some locals for some fishing advice, this is your pit stop.
The menu is pub style with some good seafood dishes available – well, it is Pearly Beach. The food is freshly prepared and the milkshakes made from real ice cream. If you are looking for something a little stronger, then do not fret. The bar is fully stocked and everyone knows how to have a good time in this little town.
