Velddrif Austrian restaurant
A unique find in Velddrift! This Austrian restaurant is found in Port Owen and despite its fairly small size, offers its patrons dishes of unbelievable taste. The eisbein is widely known and the full 1.2 kg of meat a feat to eat. Try authentic Austrian dishes such as rostie and spetzle. The pub has a big screen TV and sports fans will not be disappointed.
Gansbaai Grills restaurant
Situated on the Main Road in Gansbaai, this cowboy-western themed bistro and pub is a good choice for the hungry. Walk onto the wooden deck, where you can watch the people and activities of the town, through authentic saloon doors and into the restaurant and bar.
The Gansbaai Saloon menu has your typical bistro and pub meals with burgers, steak, egg and chips, and other regulars like schnitzels and kiddies meals. The food may not be your 5 Star cuisine but it fills the gap and tastes good – even if it is your regular ol’ Joe.
Although this is a family friendly establishment, I wouldn’t recommend keeping the children out late at the saloon. Things liven up at night and the bar is especially busy.
