Newlands Pub Meals restaurant
Forresters Arms is situated in the beautiful leafy suburb, Newlands, and is known by the locals as Forries. The popularity of this place is a phenomenon that is easily understood when you experience the vibe, ambience and food.
Simple dishes are offered, but where the food lacks in imagination, it makes up for in portion size and quality. Deliciousness is what you can expect. In summer you can enjoy sitting in the awesome beer garden while the kids make full use of the play area.
Forries is usually packed when sports are showing and the atmospere is bustling. The menu is fairly large and the dishes very well priced. Enjoy burgers, chips, pies and even a Sunday carvery.
Claremont Chinese restaurant
This traditional Chinese restaurant is warm and inviting, with that extra special Chinese flair. Stark contrasting blacks and reds, paper lanterns and fortune cookies on the counters turn this space into Mainland China.
Something to try is their stunning buffet, complete with chow mein, chop suey, egg fried rice, spring rolls, and all the other popular favourites when it comes to Chinese cuisine.
The restaurant also offers dim sums and their sushi menu is quite comprehensive with the regular maki, nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls and fashion sandwiches......and more.
With a great ambience, great value for money and great food that is prepared with passion, Mainland China definitely is a super power.
Somerset West Pub Meals restaurant
This family run restaurant and bar is lively, happening and just downright warm and inviting. Here you can let your hair down, have a 'whatevers', and enjoy delicious, unpretentious food.
The heart of the restaurant is the beer garden where you can relax under the trees and enjoy your drinks and meals. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and 'in-between anytime' snacks are served. Start with a hearty breakfast like a filled-to-the-brim omelette or any one of the variations on the traditional English breakfast on the menu.
Starters include cheesy garlic breads, chicken livers sauteed in a peri peri sauce and served on toast, snails, mussels, crumbed mushrooms and delicious, smothered nachos.
A separate pizza menu is available, but the house specialities are recommended. Pickled eisbein, juicy pork loin ribs, a steak and Guinness pie, and even a vegetarian pie form part of the main menu. For the ravenous there is a 400g T-bone steak served with a sauce of your choice, veggies and starch.
Old Bridge Tavern regularly hosts live music acts, comedy acts and sporting events on the big-screen TV, so it pays to enquire.
