Totally different form Cape Town. We got lost and ended at the Police Station. They escourted us right to our destination. The weather is out of this world though. Humid during the day, lightning and thunder bringing relief during the night (but also hitting out the electricity!) I enjoyed seeing a new city and loved Sun City!

I enjoy the peace and quiet surroundings. I could really "switch off" and just recharge my batteries.

Rustenburg has grown in the past few years into a larger city. I was impressed with the amount of amenities available. the Waterfall Mall is of a world class and it makes a difference in the mining community.

Found it to be a bustling, busy, noisy and not so clean city centre. The outlying suburbs were mostly pleasant and relatively quiet with strong developing town-house complexes. Some very beautiful private dwellings with large, both primary and secondary schools. The influence of the mines at these schools can clearly be experienced with the facilities that are present.
Sport clubs are also srongly mine-supported and there again the mines in the area play a significant part.
The proximity to Sun City and the surrounding game lodges and farms are probably the main attraction / reason for wanting to stay or visit Rustenburg together with the good Kloof resort.

Rustenburg, the fastest growing city in South Africa and also the city that I was born in and love...
Best known attractions in the area that are all within striking distance of Rustenburg itself, is:
Kgaswane Game Reserve is situated above the town of Rustenburg across a varied habitat of quartzite mountain peaks. Madikwe Game Reserve and Groot Marico Park are huge reserves north of the Pilansberg , almost half the size of Belgium. Madikwe hosts all the major plains species, including the Big Five and has the second largest concentration of elephants in South Africa.
Sun City and the Lost City located beyond the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, are resorts where visitors can lose themselves in the luxury of an imagined world, with all the modern entertainments one can ask for. The complex is set on the slopes of a picturesque valley in the Pilanesberg Mountains and captures the essence of an ancient African kingdom.Casinos, the Valley of the Waves and two world-renowned championship golf courses are just some of the many attractions. Famous people with roots in Rustenburg include: Rory Alec - Christian Broadcaster; Johan Botha - Opera singer; Koos du Plessis - singer and songwriter and many more... Rustenburg the home where the heart is. (Unfortunately, I no longer stay in Rustenburg)

I thought it was boring and didn't have much to offer except for SunCity. It is very industrial and in the middle of nowhere but Sun City was nice though and most of the hotels are in the middle of nowhere too!

We stayed there once when we went to watch a show at sun city. The guest house was very nice and the food was good! It is a nice town to just stay over at when going to sun city and Pillansberg!

From what we saw I cannot see what Rustenburg has to offer at all besides Waterfall Mall and mushrooming townhouse complexes! We found it ugly and very industrial! Only attraction is most probably because it is near Sun City.

Rustenburg has lots of things to do and the weather is excellent. Great horse riding experience at stone meadows, great pools and trail at Rustenburg Kloof. Nice driving range and paintball. Close to Sun City. It is just an overall very fun place.

Sun City was the best destination ever, although there isn't much to do in Rustenburg town.

Rustenburg is a beautiful city and the area we visited around Beyer's Naude, is very clean and not too busy. The people are friendly.

The location has very easy road links to Johannesburg and Pretoria. A great place when wanting to visit Sun City and the safari wildlife parks.
