Take on the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon this April.
Early every Easter Sunday a multitude of joggers gather in Newlands before the crack of the gun at 6am. The atmosphere is surreal and gets supercharged as eager runners start pounding the tarmac and endorphins kick in.
The 56 km ultra marathon follows the incredibly scenic route around the Peninsula, over Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek. Participants can choose between various distances – apart from the scenic 56km ultra marathon there is the popular 21km half marathon. On Good Friday there are warm up 5km or 2.5km fun runs.
The Old Mutual Two Oceans Trail Run is also taking place on Good Friday before the fun runs. The event offers an 8km and an 18km (official distance) route and takes place Entries are limited to 400 in the 8km and 400 in the 18km.
The event attracts close to 26 000 participants across all the distances and provides them with a mixture of breathtaking scenery, a gruelling test of fitness for both the elite and recreational runner, and an unrivalled race organisation and atmosphere.
