Very peaceful and quiet, everything is so close. Only the roads need attention.

This beautiful part of the South Coast takes you away from the crowds and gives you the space to relax and enjoy Mother Nature at her best. We like the clean beaches, well maintained roads and proximity to major shopping hubs and tourist venues. This is where we have come for the past 12 years to de-stress and recharge. It is also close to activities for the family with horse riding, golf and other options.

Beautiful but limited beach (swim area), very few souvenir shops and very few restaurants close to the beach but otherwise an excellent place.

Ramsgate is a wonderful place for a short or longer term getaway. The blue flag beach and lagoon are amazing. There is a laid back feel about the village which we enjoyed tremendously. There are quite a few restaurants within close proximity to the beach. The whale viewing deck and walks along the beach are a must for all visitors. Highly reccommended.

It is always the most memorable break away for us as a family. The people are friendly; accommodation is superb and so much to do. We love the tranquillity and scenery of the South Coast and will always recommend this to your friends and family.

A quiet, peaceful sea village on the Hibiscus coast with one of South Africa's prestigious Blue Flag beaches. The sub-tropical climate makes Ramsgate an ideal sea holiday distinantion right through the year. Although a quiet town on the sea, it is surrounded by various big shopping malls, restaurants, pubs, cinemas, casino and hospital. Many golf courses to choose from close to Ramsgate.

Ramsgate is a premium coastal destination. The blue flag is wonderful. The area is extremely scenic and long, safe walks are possible in the general area during the day. There are a number of restaurants in the area. Ramsgate is ideal if you prefer a slightly quieter seaside break. Bustling Margate is just a few km away.

Ramsgate is a quaint seaside village on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, situated about four kilometres south of Margate. The beach carries the blue flag certificate – it is clean, safe with 7 x day a week lifeguards. Ramsgate is located on the mouth of a river known by the Zulu name Bilanhlolo ("the marvellous boiler") for the bubbles caused by strong currents making it look like the water is boiling. Fishing is good and bird watching excellent – 386 species have been recorded. For the nature lover, there are a number of nature reserves in the vicinity of Ramsgate. Some, like the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve, offer spectacular views and a wide variety of bird species. You can also visit Bellevue Park - a Natural Heritage Site with over 200 species of indigenous trees, and a variety of habitats. Attractions and activities in Ramsgate include the fabulous beaches, the casino and the Riverbend Crocodile Farm – which houses over 200 adult Nile crocodiles. Visit the Gaze Gallery, adjacent to the Waffle House and see some of South Africa's best-known artists and potters as well as various gifts to choose from. For the best waffles in South Africa, visit The Waffle House and for a cocktail with a magnificent view visit the cocktail bar on the beach. For the golf enthusiasts, there are three superb golf courses within a 10 minute drive - Southbroom, San Lameer and Margate Country Club. A further six courses are within a 45 minute leisurely drive away including the celebrated Selbourne Park and The Wild Coast Sun. Boat trips, hiking, horse riding and scuba diving are just a few of the activities you can enjoy.

Ramsgate is the best kept secret of the South Coast! It is a golfer's paradise with six outstanding golf courses around. It has the famous Waffle House for the best waffles and MacBanana for the best pancakes. And every other foodie's delight - seafood, portuguese, italian. The Ramsgate Ramble is a beautiful beachside walk linking three stunning beaches through rocks and pools and over bridges. Ramsgate is so close to Margate where the action is and the Wild Coast for even more action, but quiet and peaceful in its own way. Perfect for adults, teenagers and families. And..the Southbroom beach and Ramsgate beach are vibey and safe with great coctail bars overlooking the beach and sea. Long live the prawns and cocktails at the Riptide!

Wonderful Seaside village. Good safe swimming beaches. Excellent restaurants, friendly bars, and good walking trails. Whale lookout. Close to bustling Margate. Half hour from Oribi Gorge; one of the worlds largest gorges. Close to at least 5 premier golf courses. Half hour from the Wild Coast Casino. What more can one ask from a beach village?

Its a very boring, non-holiday going place. There is nothing to do and is far away from anything.

Beautiful little village for the older generation. Not much for younger people which suits me fine. Great variety of self-catering accommodation though some of it is very overpriced. Excellent restaurants and breakfast venues.
