Where Paarl
Franschhoek
When 2009/04/24 to 2009/04/29

Time to titillate your taste buds.
Get out into the country and indulge in yummy cheeses from cheese makers across the country. The pretty Bien Donné farm between Paarl and Franschhoek hosts this legendary festival with an abundance of tempting boutique and renowned South African cheeses along with specially imported French cheeses.
Tuck into your favourite cheeses, sample a variety of wines, olives, freshly baked bread and get tips from the connoisseurs.
* Kids will love finding out how cows, goats and even sheep are milked.
Need to know? This popular festival had record breaking attendance in 2008 - over 33 450 people passed through the gates and more than 17 tonnes of cheese was consumed or bought for extended culinary pleasure. Don't miss out - bookings are essential as numbers are limited and are only available through Computicket.

Tips from Samantha
Wear comfortable walking shoes. This is an outdoor event - remember your sunglasses and sunscreen (and after 2007 also your umbrella and water boots!) Bring a cooler bag for those special cheeses you want to take home. Wet wipes are a great help for those sticky fingers. Bottled water will be available as well as water dispensers – buy a tasting glass at the gate at only R6.00 or bring your own. Absa ATM available. Toddlers might be better off in a ‘baby backpack’ than in a push cart . Please DO NOT BRING BRING ANY DOMESTIC ANIMALS to the Festival!!! There is no under cover parking available.
