Otjiwa Lodge captures Namibia’s natural beauty, with fascinating scenery and the charm of rustic luxury. Personal care and excellent home-style cuisine will make you feel instantly at home when breakfast and dinner is served in our dining room. A cosy lounge and bar next to our romantic swimming pool, overlooking the savannah bushveld and Omboroko Mountains, add to a wonderful time of relaxation and indulgence.

The lodge offers five modern two-bed chalets, reflecting indigenous African style with amazing panoramic views. All rooms are privately situated and feature an en-suite bathroom, minibar and air-conditioning.

The Nest is a stylishly decorated and fully equipped modern house, situated privately in the bush area. This four-bedroom self-catering unit provides sleeping facilities for up to 16 guests and is ideal for a group of friends or a family. A swimming pool with barbecue area, surrounded by big trees, provides the refreshing relaxation you need after a long warm African day.

Eagles Rest features seven fully equipped self-catering units that vary from four- to six-bedroom houses. Each house is beautifully decorated in warm African style. The sleeper-decorated open-plan kitchen offers everything needed to cook up a storm, including an outside open fireplace. From your bedroom, walk out onto the open private veranda, overlooking true bushveld beauty and gorgeous sunsets.

Otjiwa campsite is situated underneath big acacia trees next to a beautiful riverbed, where the setting of the sun creates a perfect atmosphere for true relaxation. For real a African camping adventure, there is no electricity available. The large campsites, ideal for bigger groups or families, are covered with clean river sand and include a private fireplace and washing area. A well-planned ablution area with separate bathrooms for men and women is also available. There are also smaller, more private campsites, each with its own water and fireplace as well as a smaller ablution area. All the campsites can be reached by a normal vehicle.

Amidst the backdrop of beautiful gardens, Otjiwa sets the stage for a truly romantic wedding. We offer a choice of two outdoor venues for the wedding ceremony, as well as a large hall with a fully equipped kitchen for the reception. We also offer conference and team-building facilities.

Activities include game drives, trips to the vulture hotel and education facility, rhino-tracking on foot, hiking, mountain biking, catch-and-release fishing, and bird-watching.

West of the Waterberg Plateau Park, the vast plains are occasionally broken by the remnants of ancient sandstone outcrops which once covered large areas of northern Namibia. Nestled among the Omboroko Mountains lies Okonjima, a Herero name meaning "Place of the Baboons".

This is much more than just a lodge; Okonjima is also home to The Africat Foundation. Africat became internationally renowned after featuring in an award-winning documentary that was filmed for the Discovery Channel in 1995 and 1996. Namibia is home to the world’s largest wild or free-ranging cheetah population. The majority of this country’s cheetahs and leopards can be found on approximately 7,000 commercial farms. These large carnivores occasionally prey upon the livestock that roam unprotected in the veld.

As a result, carnivores are often regarded as vermin by the livestock and game-farming community and are deliberately trapped and killed. Africat has had to take on a large number of captive cats and carnivores no longer wanted by other establishments. Among the carnivores being rescued, researched and rehabilitated by Africat are cheetah, leopard, lion, caracal, wild dog and hyaena.

Okonjima is a family-run business. Wayne, Donna and Rosalea Hanssen, who co-own and live on the property, bought Okonjima from their parents, Val and Rose, in 1993 turning the then cattle farm into a conservation project. Today The Africat Foundation is the "world’s largest cheetah and leopard rescue and release programme", and has saved more than 850 cats since 1993.

Okonjima offers several types of accommodation, ranging from Bush Camp chalets and suites to Main Camp double en-suites and The Villa. The Grand Villa comprises two rooms and two suites and can accommodate eight to 12 guests, while Bush Suites comprise two rooms, sleeping a total of four guests. The Bush Camp features eight unique thatched African-style chalets sleeping a maximum of 16 guests, and the Main Camp's 10 en-suite double rooms sleep a total of 20 guests.

All four camps have a swimming pool, outside fireplace, and an independent kitchen with restaurant and bar facilities. The Villa, Bush Suite and Bush Camp also have an indoor fireplace and each have a waterhole where wildlife may be viewed.

Activities at Okonjima include leopard-viewing, cheetah tracking on foot, nature and Bushman trails, photography, and bird-watching. Visitors can also observe some of The Africat Foundation's programme at work and learn more about these amazing and beautiful animals.

At Aloegrove Safari Lodge, you will receive true Namibian hospitality and unparalleled service to ensure that you will return again and again.

We specialize in small private groups and individual service and every guest will receive undivided, personal attention. Guests are accommodated in six en-suite bungalows, each with its own balcony. Breakfast as well as dinner is available, but need to be booked before arrival.

We are located 1,630 m above sea level and have 360-degree views over the vast savannah and Waterberg Plateau. Watch a spectacular sunset or sunrise and during the heat of the day, relax by the sparkling pool.

A great favourite at Aloegrove Safari Lodge, is the scheduled lion, leopard and cheetah feeding. This is the ideal opportunity to see these magnificent cats at close range; keep those cameras ready. Guests can also join the lodge's ranger on a 4x4 game drive during the morning or afternoon. Species such as eland, kudu, oryx, giraffe, mountain zebra, hartebeest, springbok, impala, steenbuck, duiker, damara dik-dik, Black and Blue wildebeest, waterbuck, and warthog can be seen.

Bird-watching can be done from the comfort of your bungalow. The bungalows look out over the waterhole, a treat for any ornithologist. The fitter and more energetic might prefer to venture out on a guided hiking trail in and around the property.
