Description

NEWS FLASH! The Obz Festival seems to be cancelled due to unforseen red tape. View www.obs.org.za

Mark the start of the Cape Town summer at South Africa's largest street festival - the OBZfestival 2009! Featuring an awesome lineup of live music, craft markets, an OBZkidz zone and local restaurants, the OBZfestival has secured its place as the premier street festival in the Mother City.

A major feature of this festival is the two day live music stage featuring Cape Town and South Africa's emerging urban youth bands with genres covering funk, soul, hip-hop, rock, ska, reggae and afro pop. Don't miss the  OBZ Lazy Sunday afternoon jazz on the Village Green - take a picnic and chill to some of the country's smoothest acoustic tunes.

OBZkidz is a safe dedicated kiddies area where parents attending the festival can spend time with their children who are offered kiddies activities such as African story telling, Drum Kidz (drumming circle) & artists from across the continent performing African children songs. Here children are able to enjoy the festival “aura” away from the “madness” of the main festival zone.

Riverview Lodge

Lodge, Bed and Breakfast in Observatory

Riverview is our main guest lodge and is a lovely old Victorian building in trendy historical Observatory, the student Mecca of Cape Town. During the Victorian era when it was built and named, it did indeed have a view of the Liesbeeck River, but as the suburb developed over the years, we lost the river view.
