Launched five years ago to support the global movement towards healthy and ethical practises, the Natural & Organic Product Exhibition is dedicated to inspiring South Africans to view their lifestyle and health choices as indivisible. The Natural & Organic Products Exhibition is committed to growing the local industry sector as well.
Globally, the organic industry is the fastest growing industry segment. Climate change and the resulting global food and energy crisis have put an even bigger spotlight on the need for sustainable economic solutions and environmentally conscious lifestyle practises. It provides a classic win- win situation: supporting natural and organic principles and products is not only good for the health of people and planet, but it makes irrefutable business sense too.
Visitors to the show are encouraged to explore, experiment and network, secure in the knowledge that they are supported by the best range of quality local organic, natural, eco-friendly, socially aware products and services. Special innovation demonstrations and interactive lifestyle areas are specifically designed to empower individuals to make informed choices.
No Kak? The No Kak! Environmentally Friendly Design Competition is geared at raising environmental awareness amongst students studying fashion and textile design, as well as promoting products that have been produced (locally) in an environmentally responsible manner. Over 250 students submitted entries for the 2008 competition. Students from South African tertiary institutions, offering Fashion and Textile Design Courses are invited to submit story boards, depicting their eco-responsible designs. This year, qualifying entries are for the Eco Fashion Design and Bio Baby categories. See daily No Kak Fashion Shows and vote for your favourite design.
