Description
The King of Croon is back! Prolific hit maker, Lionel Richie, is "coming home" to tour in South Africa this November.
The eagerly awaited tour, presented by 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and East Coast
Radio, comes to Durban audiences on the 25th of November, Jozi on the 27th & 28th
November and Cape Town on the 22nd November.
Awarded five Grammies, an Oscar, a Golden Globe and numerous American Music and People's Choice awards, the mega star aims to appeal to every person. "Simplicity," Lionel Richie explains, "is the key to what I do. I want to find the simplest phrase that everybody says, no matter what language you speak.”
A humanitarian with a heart for Africa, Richie performed and co-wrote with Michael Jackson the ‘USA For Africa’ benefit single “We Are The World,” which went No. 1 in 1985 and raised millions for famine relief.
The mega star is incredibly excited about this long overdue visit to South Africa and reflected that his latest studio album, “Coming Home”, is a metaphor for this much anticipated tour.
“Africa holds a special place for me and I am anxious to come home and give something back to all the fans that have supported me and my music over the years”.
The legendary Lionel Richie…Live in South Africa, is guaranteed to have fans dancing on the ceiling. This is the one performance not to be missed!
