Description
Are you up for the gruelling challenge of the world’s most beautiful marathon?
Take on the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon this April. Early every Easter weekend a multitude of joggers gather in Newlands before the crack of the gun at 06:00. The atmosphere gets supercharged as eager runners start pounding the tarmac and endorphins kick in.
The 56 km ultra-marathon follows the incredibly scenic route around the Peninsula, over Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek. Participants can choose between various distances – apart from the scenic 56 km ultra-marathon there is the popular 21 km half-marathon. On Friday there are warm up options of 5 km or 2.5 km fun runs.
The Old Mutual Two Oceans Trail Run also takes place on Friday before the fun runs. The event offers an 10 km and an 22 km route. The event attracts close to 26 000 participants across all the distances and offers a mixture of breath-taking scenery, a gruelling test of fitness for both the elite and recreational runner, and an unrivalled race organization and atmosphere.
