7 On Oakleigh is a cosy studio apartment set in the leafy upmarket suburb of Wembley, north of Pietermaritzburg and less than five kilometres from the city centre. It is ideally located for guest visiting city events, such as the Royal and Garden Shows, Hilton Arts Festival, Art and Cars in the Park and the start of both the Duzi and Comrades Marathon.

The open-plan unit has an inviting king-size bed with soft bedding, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a well-equipped kitchenette and living space. The kitchenette has a mini-stove with two hotplates and a small oven, a microwave, a bar fridge, a toaster, and tea and coffee facilities. There is a wall-mounted TV with DStv to one side along with a dressing table and dining area.

Also available to guests is a swimming pool, braai area and garden. The area has camera surveillance with a manned guard hut. Secure off-street parking is provided with remote controlled access. A laundry and daily cleaning service is available on request.

Waterwoods has eight cottages and is situated on a farm just outside of Nottingham Road. They offer simple yet homely cottages where guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery in comfort.

The cottages are all equipped with electric blankets and either a heater or a fireplace for the snowy winter months. Except for one, the cottages are all self-catering with fully equipped kitchens and braai facilities. They are not equipped with TVs to ensure a real escape from the city and a transfer to country life.

The farm has 24-hour security to ensure your piece of mind. The farm boasts a dam, a river and a wooded hill that affords guests excellent opportunities for hiking and mountain biking.

The Midlands are a beautiful area with wonderful scenic drives and places to enjoy walks or cycling. The area is known for its fly fishing opportunities. The area is bustling with museums, health hydros and a micro-brewery.

Tancredi is a beautifully restored upmarket Victorian home with five en suite bedrooms. Situated in Scottsville, it is ideally situated with easy access to all amenities in and around Pietermaritzburg. Tancredi also features a beauty salon, swimming pool and braai facilities on the property. All rooms are equipped with TV, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and desks. Internet access and DStv are available. A full English breakfast is offered.

Normal check-in time is between 2 pm and 6 pm.

The farms location is a haven for wildlife and guests will enjoy sightings of duiker and reedbuck grazing nearby, hear the call of the fish eagles, and if you're lucky, spot hedgehogs and jackal in the nearby forests.

Mount Park Guest Farm is situated in the beautiful upper Dargle region of KwaZulu Natal Midlands at the foot of the Inhlosane Mountain. This 344 hectare working beef farm consists of a diverse combination of grasslands, pastures, over 40 hectares of indigenous forest, wetlands and mountain, providing habitats for a large variety of bird species. One of the forests inhabitants is the rare Tree Hyrax. You may be lucky to hear its distinctive call at night.

 

We offer self-catering accommodation in a century old farmhouse, Yellowwood Cottage, Rose Cottage, in two Cabins and have camping sites. Simple catering is offered in the Bull & Speir restaurant on request. This is all situated in a large old garden, intersected with small streams and a large old oak tree, ideal for relaxing on a sunny day.

 

In the garden is a small dam stocked with trout, which is ideal for kids to fish and swim in. Adults are also welcome to throw a line.

 

For the more active there are a number of walks through the forests, up the mountain, down to the vlei or a short stroll to the historic graveyard, in a grove of yellowwood trees.

 

Perhaps an apt way to describe Mount Park is an ‘Olde Worlde’ delight.

The cottages are ideal for a variety of stays from a romantic and peaceful getaway to a fun-filled family holiday, as they can sleep two, four and six guests respectively. In the original stone homestead, built in 1913, there are an additional two large rooms with oregan floors and ceilings, which are offered on a bed and breakfast basis only. Bancroft is on the doorstep of Worlds View which is a riding hotspot for Down Hill and Off Road Bikers and the surrounding country side offers some of the most wonderful Off Road Dirt Bike terrain you can find anywhere.

A wetland area and some natural wildlife are located on the grounds, and we offer 360-degree views of wetland, stunning garden and farm lands.

As part of your rate, you receive a healthy farm-style breakfast of muesli, yoghurt, seasonal fruit, health breads and homemade jams.

The unit includes a private lounge and living area with a DStv-enabled TV. There is a small kitchenette that is fully equipped for self-catering. The small, covered braai area is a great place to enjoy a drink while taking in the beautiful countryside.
