You enter the Namaqualand wonderland approximately 5 hours drive north of Cape Town. The annual transformation of this semi-desert wilderness is a wonder of the world not to be missed.

Evidence of the spring flowers begins even in Cape Town on your drive out, and progresses as you drive North along the N7. The wild flower route includes the Richtersveld National Park, Goegap Nature Reserve, and Skilpad Wild Flower Reserve.

Thousands of seed varieties lie dormant, awaiting germination, then bursting forth between July and October for both tourists and locals delight and absolute pleasure.
